Trying to be ahead of any other hatches in the European market is no easy task, but Renault seems to have the right ingredients for an amazing car. Just a few days ago in Geneva, the latest Renault Megane RS has been unveiled to the public and everyone seemed to love it. Inspired by the Trophy racer Megane, the new RS is definitely meaner and faster. With an agressive front grille splitter and big arches, a center-exit exhaust within the diffuser, bulging side sills and some intriguing two-tone alloys, you’ll have to admit that even if it’s a French car … it’s a damn good looking one.
But my bet is that you’d like to know what makes that kitty roar. Well there’s a 250-horsepower 2.0-liter 16-valve turbo engine under the hood, a sharper chassis available in “Sport” and “Cup”, fully defeatable stability control and an improved steering, it’s quite a contender to Ford’s Focus RS. Um this renault is ok but the focus rs will leave it by such a gap. It doesnt look that great and i wouldnt want one cause its a renault which is gay. Seriously go buy a ford, this renault is no competition. FORD POWER!!!!!!

@Lui, look the Ford Focus RS does have in the region of +/-40kw more – but in this game sheer power isn’t everything! The Renault’s chassis is phenomenal. Handling is also very important for performance, not just bigger dyno numbers.
And if the Previous Megane RS is anything to go by, the sound should be badass!

You would only buy a Focus RS if you are a complete pikey…The Renault has class, the RS Focus is just an Essex boys car that looks like its ram raided halfords

This is to all the people who think the renault is better than the Ford Focus RS…haha sorry that still males me laugh. Yes i must admit that the Renault is an impressive car, phenomenal chassis, amazing power and its drop dead gorgeous but the Focus is that and so much more. The Focus chassis is just as phenomenal as Renaults if not better, its siff but still flexible enough to take the sharperst corners at the highest speed possible. This brings up the fact that its steering is pin-point accurate and the suspension is so balanced that it makes the ride so comfortable as if you are driving on air. The Megane suspension is too hard like a typical race care which makes the drive uncomfortable and doents allow the car to bend around corners as quick and agile as it could. In this aspect the Focus is way beyond the class of the Megane. And now to get to the power, yes the Focus has +- 40 kw more but the Megane is 100kg lighter and even so in a straight line or around a circuit the Focus is so much faster that the Megane struggles to keep up…you don’t even have to change out of third gear and the Megane is struggling to keep up. Again the Focus has it set and matched on this aspect. Now the looks…the Focus is hot on the inside and out whatever way you look at it and if you are oblivious to this fact yous must be blind. This is the only department the Megane could even dream of matching up to the Focus, because the sound the Focus makes can rival an Aston Martin. Ford Focus RS is a legacy, a car of history hopes and dreams while the Megane is just a showstopper like a little nerd with a new haircut to make him think he’s cooler, but undernaeth it all he’s still a nerdy kid and the big boy on the block is gonna pound him senseless.

The best just got better!The focus body rolls like a 1974 Land Rover.That is why you don’t see ford in F1.The focus can’t even run away from the little CLIO RS on a race track.The Megane RS will destroy the fraud.

I’d have either, though iIn real world terms you’ll only get one choice – The Renault. Unless of course you’re going spend upwards of half a million and import your own RS?? (Unlikely)
