Nissan has unveiled a racing edition of the GT-R called the NISMO GT-R RC (Racing Competition). It was launched at the 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon by the manufacturers’ in house tuner NISMO.

The GT-R Racing Competition features plenty of track-going modifications. The GT-R’s set up now sports improved track performance with a tire-compatible suspension as well as more lightweight parts. It is also equipped with the proper racing safety features such as an FIA-qualifying welded roll cage, air jacks and a 120 liter safety fuel tank from ATL.

The GT-R comes with a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine with an output of 530 hp (395 kW / 537 PS) and 488 lb-ft (661 Nm) of torque. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved at a flat 3.0 seconds for the standard GT-R. Hence it calls for no engine tuning at all, with plenty of power already tapped.

The Japanese annual tuner show, The Tokyo Auto Salon was held from January 14 to 16.
