BMW has released another teaser video of the 1-Series M Coupe. Earlier this month BMW had released a cockpit video of the 1-Series M Coupe driving around the Ascari race track in Spain. It was reported that the car will be unveiled in December, before its world premiere at the 2011 North American International Auto Show.

Leaked image of the 2012 Nissan GT-R is up and running in the web and the car is expected to be unveiled later this year. This comes about two months after some spy pictures had revealed one of the two Nissan GT-R prototypes doing some tests at the Nurburgring circuit (in Germany).

Peugeot has officially announced its 3008 HYbrid4. The car is the world’s first diesel-powered fully hybrid vehicle. The HYbrid4 comes with a 2.0 liter HDi diesel engine with 163 PS (120 kW) and 300 Nm of torque which powers the front wheels.

It’s not pretty, it’s somehow funny, but what I would like to know is how safe this is. I’m talking about a Hummer H3 that packs authentic wagon wheels installed in place of its 32-inch offroading tires. And no, it’s not a Wild Wild West modern movie if you wanted to know, it’s just Matthew Harrison’s mixture of art, engineering and motoring.

If you want my honest opinion, it’s just a bunch of bull because that thing will never run on streets (I guess breaks are useless, or need to be adjusted?) and it’s really ugly. Isn’t it? Why would you make a Hummer 3 look like that, it’s still beyond my imagination. The wooden-wheeled H3 will be on display courtesy of the Limoncello gallery in East London. Weight saving is becoming a very crucial factor for today’s performance cars. Just as manufacturers are trying to squeeze out that extra kilowatt, at the same time they are also trying to shed that extra kilogram. It is quite common for super cars to use carbon fibre body panels to reduce weight and this has been slowly making its way to normal road cars such as the new 2008 BMW M3 which will have a carbon fibre roof. Even AMG boasts using 19 inch alloy rims for their Black Series CLK63 that just barely weighs 11kg each, which is about 3kg lighter than the CLK63′s standard wheels. (more…)

Right, we all know South Africa is suffering from an ever increasing wave of crime. Unfortunately this past weekend we too fell victim to this. Late last week a shipment of alloy wheels destined for our Jhb store experienced the proverbial ‘shrinkage’. That said, this looked like quite the professional job.
While half our shipment arrived intact, the missing wheels were carefully selected and matched. Surely the thieves behind this knew their wheels and knew exactly what they wanted. I’ll be going out on a limb, but I’m pretty sure there was a substantial ‘inside job’ factor involved. No petty thief will run off with 30 sets (4 wheels per set) of alloy wheels.

These wheels WILL NOT be sold for scrap metal, nor will they be used for personal use at show & shine events. These will be flogged into the market at rockbottom prices. This is not the first time its happened to us, however this time these wheels ALL sport our in-house Evo Tuning branding, as well as several Autostyle Motorsport branding & labelling on the packaging.

Autostyle Motorsport will be offering a R5000 (yes five thousand) reward if your tipoff leads to a conviction &/or recovery of our goods. The above image is the two designs that have been nicked. These wheels are bound to end up in various classifieds, fleamarkets & dodgy retailers who should know better.
