The Veritas RSIII Roadster manufactured by Vermot AG is a perfect opportunity to relive the auto-fanaticism of the past. The design is surely retro but the use of material and the engine displacement is good enough to get us drooling. The news is that the new Veritas RSIII Roadster has hit the production facility and a limited edition of 30 cars will be manufactured, with deliveries starting 2010. Meanwhile, eight customers have already booked the retro modern scorcher which comes with a 1+1 seating scheme and a hidden rear seat.

The roadster will be powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre BMW V10 engine capable of producing 507hp at 7,750rpm and 520Nm of torque at 6,100rpm. As far as the transmission is concerned, there will be a choice between a 7-speed SMG and the 6-speed manual. No wonder this car can pelt from 0 to 100km/h in less than 3.2 seconds and top it out at 347km/h. Each one of these gems will cost €345,000.

Talk about redemption and Veritas is one heck of an example. After living in the oblivion for more than half a century, it popped out from nowhere with an RS III Coupe. Now that it is scorching the roads with a roadster version also in the ranks, we hear of some more options to come. The first they say would be a limited edition (30 units only) RS III Coupe and if that didn’t satiate you enough-there is also an SUV that will be cradled with a small aircraft engine in a car-fiber body casing. I always knew that the RS III and the RSIII roadster would turn out to be popular designs. Given the fact that Veritas sticks to the original retro designs, it is getting difficult to even picture a Coupe or an SUV, so I am desperately looking forward to those designs. [via Autoblog]

An open-cockpit supercar built by the Germans at Veritas, the RS III is going to be introduced in July  at this year’s Salon Prive in London. Inspired from the past and losing all electronic driving aids, Veritas RS III features two BMW M-sourced powertrains. One is a 480hp V8 engine and the other one is a 600hp V10. Priced at $375,000 and only built in a limited edition of only 50 units, the German supercar sure kniws a little bit about power. Too bad you can’t have your girl with you, for a ride in town.
