Nurburgring is an amazing place to spy on, because there’s always something that gets the eye. Same goes for the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster, which is a topless version of the new V12 Vantage that has easily become one of the most charming cars these days. Running on the same 6.0 liter engine as the coupe and sporting 510 bhp (380 kW / 517 PS) with 570 Nm (420 lb ft) of torque, the convertible is going to be a BIT slower than its bigger brother because of the extra weight required to stiffen up the chassis. Only limited to 1,000 units (and some saying 500 units) the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster is a gem we’d like to own if we’d have the money. [via WCF]

By now I knew that the (crazy) Germans from Hamann Motorsport, only like to spend time with BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and Land Rover when they come up with something wicked. But seems like I was wrong.
They got their hands on Aston Martin’s V8 Vantage Coupe and Roadster and worked a bit on aerodynamics and handling. Other than the stainless sport exhaust system good for an extra 20 hp, three-piece Hamann EDITION RACE 21-inch wheels and special chassis springs that gets it lowered by up to 30mm, there is something funky under the hood; an ECU upgrade for the 4.3-liter and 4.7-liter V8 engine that sports 358hp (283 kW) and 426 hp (313 kW), that top at 290 km/h and 295 km/h.
On the outside the V8 Vantage got a lower front bumper fascia with 2-piece side spoilers, side skirts, rear deck lid spoiler and a three-piece diffuser with rear center spoiler which attaches to the existing rear bumper fascia, all in fiber glass or in matte carbon.
I think it’s as wicked as possible … What do you think?
