
Ssangyong seems to care that the world is going through one of its worse crisi. That’s why they thought of announcing an environmental friendly concept to their vehicle lineup. Dubbed Ssangyong C200 Aero, the new CUV (compact urban vehicle) is expected to be available in UK first, starting with 2010. Not too long and not too wide, the chunky C200 Aero is not much about styling as it is about performances. With options to choose between a 175-horsepower 2.0 liter turbodiesel, 1.8 liter gasoline engines or a diesel hybrid (for the C200 Aero Eco version), the vehicle is mated to a six-speed manual or automatic transmissions and emits 50% less CO2 into the air (for the Eco version). Ssangyong – the company who’s trying to come up with a lot of new models in the next few years to get a bigger slice of the market share, partnered with Shanghai Automotive Industries Group and showcased their newest compact SUV, dubbed C200, at the Paris Motor Show a few days ago. The design was done by Giugiaro because his ItalDesign styling house is in charge with the looks of the new models to be built.


“The car is very, very important for us as it’s the first demonstration of the new strategy that was announced at Geneva,” says SsangYong UK managing director Paul Williams.
