Toyota Prius Aerius & Aemulus Announced for SEMA 2009

toyota-prius-aerius

SEMA is that place where all crazy tuner gather up and show off. The nice thing about SEMA is that you get to see daring models that otherwise would be locked on paper without ever seeing daylight. A very good example is the new Toyota Prius Aerius (Latin for “belonging to the air”) and Toyota Prius Aemulus (meaning “envious imitation”). Featuring a Five Axis Design four-piece aero kit with a front lip spoiler, new side skirts, and a rear lower valance, the new vehicles charm with the 3D Carbon body kit, crystalline tinted windows and the sky-inspired paint scheme by Nippon Color Design Studio America. Just by looking at those stylish 19-inch FIVE:AD wheels on the Prius Aerius, and we can already understand how Toyota manages to save the environment and make money at the same time.

2010 Saleen S281 Mustang Initial Renderings

2010 Saleen S281 Mustang

Auto aficionados expecting the 2010 model of the Saleen S281 Mustang won’t have to wait any longer as the pony is ready to be showcased at the upcoming SEMA. The initial renderings of the Mustang have been made public ahead of its debut and the images reveal a unique body kit with a new hood, a new grille and fresh looking front fascia. On the sides, there is a new skirting while on the rear, there are window louvers, a sleek looking spoiler, rear diffuser and a bolder looking four-tailpipe exhaust system. The engine options for the 2010 Saleen will include a naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8 capable of producing 335 hp and 345 lb-ft of maximum torque to begin with. Another probable option could be a supercharged 4.6-liter V8 variant with 465 hp and 425 lb-ft of torque. Both these engine options are probabilities taking into account the current model line-up. We will have the exact details at SEMA.

Lingenfelter Performance Engineering 2010 Camaro ready for a SEMA Debut

Lingenfelter Performance Engineering 2010 Chevrolet Camaro

The Tokyo Motor Show is now over and while the focus at the Japanese event was on eco friendly tech, it seems that the upcoming SEMA will showcase a mix of green and some astonishing Camaros. Another addition to that already impressive Camaro list at SEMA will be the Lingenfelter Performance Engineering 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. Named as Pontiac Trans-Am and badged as the Trans-Am logo, the car rides on 20 by 10 front and 20 by 11 rear honeycomb wheels, giving the Camaro an altogether different identity at the event. Under the hood will be a 7.45-liter aluminium block engine that can produce a whopping 655 horses and a maximum torque of 610 ft-lb. On the inside will be a classic customized interior that will boast of a machine drilled steering wheel and billet dash inserts. [via camaro5.com]

The Corvette C6 GTR gets a Specter Touch

Specter Werkes Corvette C6 GTR

Specter Werkes is working up its magic on the Vette again and unlike the GTR it came up with last summer, the one that it will showcase SEMA on November 3 will be a deadlier version. The BASF Pearl Blue exterior color and HRE CF40 carbon fiber wheels on the exterior will give it a desirable look on the outside but what matters most is what it gets under the hood — a 7.0L LS7 V8 at the heart with a twin-turbo setup from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering renders a mind-boggling 800 horsepower. To keep all those ponies in safe place, the Vette C6 GTR comes with StopTech brakes at the front and the rear. On top of that a revised exhaust system was also mandatory to accommodate that much power and Specter Werkes have used a Corsa option for assistance in this case. Mind-blowing, eh?

SEMA 2008 Babes

A little bit off topic, but I’m pretty sure guys will surely love to see these new “hoods” from the SEMA Tuner Show in Las Vegas. We’ve covered a few stories from there too, but we weren’t really that impressed with cars if you can remember the ugly Mustang, right? However when it comes to those ladies that tried to show you the best in their cars … all we can do is go WOW. Now tell me if you can concentrate on those horsepower! Kudos to those who invented bikinis.
