Though it’s just a teaser for now, rumors have it that the new Renault Megane RS will make it to Geneva next month. And the French like to keep us craving. They even launched a dedicated website that will count down the time till it reaches Switzerland. Inspired from the Megane Coupe Trophy, the hot hatch is a beefed up concept that features a contoured hood, bulbous fenders and headlamps. With a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine under the hood (from the Megane R26) that outputs 250 hp and goes naught to 60mph in around 6 seconds, some Brembo brakes, a limited-slip differential and a revised power steering system, we can bet our paychecks it’s going to be a hot seller. Debuted at the British Auto Show a couple of months ago, the new Ford Focus RS has officially made it to production. With a sporty exterior that features a black grille, some sporty hood vents, a rear spoiler and diffuser, a dual exhaust, 19-inch wheels and Recaro wheels, the RS looks pretty mean. And it is mean. Under the hood there’s a five-cylinder 2.5l turbocharged engine that sports 296hp and gets the car from still to 60mph in just 5.9 seconds. Top speed is 155mph (electronically topped) but should easily reach 160 mph if the limiter would be removed. As for the price, in UK they’re expecting it to sell for a bit below £25,000 (some $30,000).

The Skoda Octavia RS+ on display at Essen has received a complete makeover on the exterior from the car makers, while the engine under the hood still remains the 200hp 2.0-litre turbo engine and the 2.0 TDI of 170hp. The new and sporty RS+ at the German show, came with a host of changes to the exterior like the black alloy wheels, black interior housing, front spoiler and the rear black diffuser. The interiors have been revamped using shades of black and a tinge of red with bucket-seats, door panels and triple-coated leather steering wheel, all shining with a new glow. The RS+ in its new incarnation truly looks a lot more cool and trendy than the more brazen earlier version.

If a couple of months ago we showed you the (speculated) 2010 Porsche Cayman, we’re back with a few spied images of the new Porsche Cayman RS. Wearing the recently announced Cayman S Sport trim package, we really think this is how the new RS is going to look, with a fixed rear wing, a modified front lip spoiler and making 30 – 40 horsepower more than a Cayman S (295hp).. We will probably know more in March next year during the Geneva Motor Show. It looks sporty and fast, but definitely not good. Do you like it, because I’m not impressed. – via WCF

The first official pictures of the new Ford Focus have found their way onto my screen. Asides from the pretty colors on it, there will be 300 little horses under the hood. That is always nice to hear, but we can hope to get some more ponies, cause the car is still in development.

Changes are both on the outside and on the interior. Two bonnet louvres, needed to keep the turbocharged Duratec 2.5-litre 5-cylinder engine in the right temperature, the wider wheel arches, for the 40 mm wider track, Recaro seats, for a better driving experience, will be just a part of the make-up for our car.

And let’s not forget, it will reach 100hm/h in less than 6 seconds.
The Focus will keep its front wheel drive system but will receive a Quaife Automatic Torque Biasing limited-slip differential and the brand-new “RevoKnuckle”, a new front suspension system to avoid torque steer.
I just can’t wait to see this little piece of modern technology and maybe if I am lucky, put my foot on the pedal and my hands on the steering wheel. It will definitely deserve a test drive, don’t you think? (on a race track).
