If you’ve been long craving for a Rolls Royce Phantom, the luxurious brand is preparing a facelift. But since that term is not exquisite enough, they’re calling it a product update. No matter what title it has, the mysterious ride features a new front bumper, a shallower stainless steel grille, some luxurious LED door handle lighting, redesigned wood veneer door panels and 12-inch screens to entertain those in the back. It’s a powerful lordly vehicle that runs on 21-inch wheels cast in aluminum, so expect it to hit the road in a couple of months. via autoblog]

If until now the only ultra-luxury coupe was Bentley Continental GT, Rolls Royce felt like they have something to say about it and revealed in Geneva the new Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe. I expect you to come up with a “wow” when you see the pictures, but wait a little to know more about the specs and what’s under the hood.

Under the hood, the “piece of resistance” is the BMW built 6.75L V12 engine that produces 453 bhp and 720 Nm of torque. It’s supposed to have a 25 percent increase in fuel capacity compared to the Drophead Coupé so you can expect to drive longer.
Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe has an aluminum chassis, uses lightweight materials, comes up with a strong single piece roof unit and has a very large interior furnished up to the extreme. It’s going to cost $400,000 and production will start this summer (2008).

Ladies and gents who have the cache to buy a Rolls-Royce or for those that just enjoy seeing one, I’ve just heard that The new Phantom Coupe is going to be available in Geneva, next month at the Internation Auto Show. Rolls-Royce just made an official announcement and gave us some pictures of the nearly-all-aluminum to drool on.
Not sure if my ramblings about the design are worth because you can see for yourself but the fact that under the hood there are 453 little horses coming out from the 6.75-liter V12 engine that has 530 lb-ft of torque, is something that should be taken into consideration. The fact that it goes 0 to 60mph in 5.6 seconds is nothing to forget about.
The new Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe comes with a stiffer rear dampers, a thicker anti-roll bar, a better steering wheel (feels better they say) and a great “SPORT” button on the wheel that you may find useful if you wanna race: push it and it holds the gear longer, the pedal response is quicker.
I will let you see more pictures and see for yourself.

If you like old cars and are always looking for new deals then I have one that you probably missed. It’s about the oldest – still working – Rolls Royce that sold at auction in London at Bonhams’ Collectible Cars and Automobilia for a record amount of money 3,521,500 pounds or $7,275,000.
The two-seats open top old Rolls Royce that sports 10hp, is 103 years old (produced in 1904) and was maintained by Oliver Langton the same person that found it with his brother in a farm building at Seacroft near Leeds in 1950. I think he is the person that the new owner should thank for the glowing red leather and brass interior. The car was only shared by three people since 1905, so this and the fact that it still works was a good reason to sell that high.
I am not sure if I would pay $727,500 for each of those ten horses because I am sure I wouldn’t be able to go out in it while it rains, but man this would be really good to get some chicks if the weather is fine.

Petrolhead tests the Rolls Royce Phantom vs Maybach 57s

This is the second time we’re feeding on the Phantom, perhaps, the stunning machine keeps calling us back.
The Phantom Drophead Coupe is shorter in size and has coach-style doors, which open from the front, allowing for easy access to the rear seats. It has brushed steel hood and teak cover for the convertible top.
