The European customers that prefer brand Renault are in for a treat this June as Renault has announced details of the limited edition Laguna Coupe Monaco GP. The Coupe can be ordered as early as next month and it will be delivered to customers in June. The Coupe features a unique color scheme of a pearl white set against the black of the roof, 18-inch alloy wheels and side-mirror housings, all of which make the Coupe look very exclusive.

The Coupe will be offered with three diesels and a petrol variant where the petrol variant will of course be the flagship. The petrol variant will feature a 3.5 liter V6 engine that churns 240 hp and 330Nm of torque. Renault Laguna Coupe, Estate and Hatch Black Editions

It seems that Renault has decided to launch a Coupe Black Editions following the success of the Hatch and the Estate Black Editions. But the latest from the French automaker’s stable— Laguna Coupe Black Edition, comes with nothing except for a few simple cosmetic changes that slightly alter the looks of the car. Available with three metallic paints, including Pearlescent Black, Cassiopee Grey and Platine Grey, 17-inch Talisman aluminum alloys, twin chrome exhaust pipes, hands-free Renault Card automatic door lock/unlock and engine start-up system and also a few entertainment options in the form of 40W 3D sound system built by Arkamys,  the car is pretty smart and includes Bluetooth, CD, MP3, and an audio connection box.

But no changes under the hood mean that you still need to live with the 2.0-liter dCi engine with 150 hp (and that seems to be a bit of a dampener). With 0-100 km/h in a leisurely time of 9.5 seconds, the €29,500 spent on the Coupe Black Edition is more for the looks than performance… Let’s see how well the latest special version from Renault fairs!

Renault Laguna GT goes on sale

By this summer the new Renault Laguna GT is going to be available for sale in a saloon and an estate version. Both petrol and diesel engines have been announced. The diesel is a 2.0L dCi that outputs 180hp at 3,750 rpm and 400Nm of torque, does 0 to 100kph in 8.5 seconds and a mixed fuel consumption of 6.5L/100km (172 g/km CO2 emissions). If you want something sportier than the 2.0L 16-valve petrol engine may be the solution. It outputs 205hp at 5,000 rpm, has a 300Nm torque and does the 100 (kph) in 7.8 seconds. Of course the mixed fuel consumption is a little bit higher, 8.2L/100km and 194 g/km CO2 emissions.

Now that we know what we can expect under the hood let’s see the other details.

It was developed by Renault and their Renault Sport Technologies division, has an Active Drive chassis with four-wheel steering, some new lateral air-intakes, gloss black wing mirrors, smoked rear lamps and aerodynamic sills. My personal favorite are the twin tailpipe and the Celsium wheels equipped with 225/45 18-inch special Bridgestone Potenza tyres.

Renault Laguna Sedan Spy Pics

2009 renault laguna sedan Renault Laguna Sedan Spy Pics

Do you remember the nice Renault Coupe that was full of tape and textiles to cover it from our eyes? What would you say if I tell you I have the newest Renault Laguna Sedan spy pics? It’s looking great, but my honest opinion is that those tail lights are a bit odd. Don’t you think? Another thing I enjoy very much is the large panoramic back window and the “spoiler” in the back.

We’ll see the 2009 Renault Laguna Sedan in September during the Paris Motor Show and the good news is that most of the engines we know will be used: 1.6l and 2.0l petrol engines, a turbocharged 2.0l with 110 hp (really?), 140hp or 170hp while the diesel engines include a 1.5l going up to 110hp and some 2.0l getting from 130hp to 175hp.

Do you guys like it?

If you didn’t know by now that Renault is planning to release a Laguna Coupe, it doesn’t matter. We have a few pictures for you that were spied by our friends from WorldCarFans in one of the Scandinavian countries. It’s covered as expected but still a big attraction to know the French are testing. This can only mean we’re going to see it live, sooner, maybe Geneva in March? Naaah. Rumors say 2009 is the year.

The new Renault Laguna Coupe comes will have a 3-liter V6 dci engine with 230+ hp, in two doors (sounds like a normal for me) and is going to ride head by head with the new VW Passat CC  and the new CLS from Mercedes. I’m sure it will do good. Here is an artist impression on how it looks.
