Mueller also said  the revamped 2-seat racer cabriolet will probably sell for a lot less than the Porsche’s current Boxster model.  He has been quoted as saying:

“I can imagine that such a modern version of the famous ‘James Dean’ Porsche would be well-received by our customers.”

There were earlier reports about the carmaker mulling over the launch of a new entry-level Porsche model that could be positioned just below their flagship Boxster.

The model is expected to hit the street during the summer of 2014. We expect the car to come with a mid-mounted turbocharged 1.6 liter power train that would provide a power of 200 PS (147 kW / 197 bhp).

The entry-level Porsche concept is estimated to cost the buyer around €39,000. This, in fact, would be €8,000 less than the modern Boxster. Awesome, isn’t it?

If you observe the car’s exterior, you get to understand this edition of Porsche sports a front fascia that reminds you of the current model.

Besides, the car also has much number of new tweaks including new door mirrors, a smaller greenhouse, svelte tail-lights and a restyled posterior.

There are small differences incorporated into the vehicle’s built as well. The new edition is almost 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) wider than the existing model and drives on a wheelbase that has increased up to approximately 4 inches (10.2 cm).

Performance specifications remain same; the car will most likely sport a 3.4-liter flat-six engine with 350 PS (257 kW / 345 hp. There are also rumors that a Turbo version will deliver an output of around 550 PS (405 kW / 542 hp).

You can choose between a seven-speed manual or an optional seven-speed PDK to pair with the engine, irrespective of your choice of power trains. Tell us what you feel.

However, We just noticed that the car comes with a seven-speed manual transmission, marked clearly in the gear knob of the car.

And in case you missed it, skip the video forward to the 1:07 mark and pause! You can clearly make out the gear knob etched with five markings up top and three markings down below. The 7- speed manual transmission sure is an ace feature, but it’s not a big surprise to you, right because you may have come across previous speculations that suggested it..

We will get a confirmation on that this September, when we finally have access to this redesigned Porsche 911 while it surfaces in Frankfurt.

Frankly, we are confused as to whether this exactly is some form of a standard Carrera with the panoramic sunroof option. We would have to wait till we get more clues on that.

Look at the video posted below and you will be thrilled  to watch the production edition Porsche 911 GT2 RS racing like a bullet. The target was covered in just over 11 minutes and seven seconds, thereby garnering the record for a “street homologated sports car.”

Those who have doubts regarding this €199,500 Porsche’s speed ability will be convinced by the performance. In 3.5 seconds, this supercar can race from 0-100 km/h and can hit a zenith speed of 330 km/h (205 mph).

In case you have forgotten, the GT2 RS is powered by an masculine twin-turbo 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine providing 620 PS (462 kW / 612 hp) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque.

The front fascia appears to have slight tweaks in design borrowed from the recent 911 prototypes. Door-mounted mirrors, a larger rear window and a new side air intake will also be implemented in the remodeled Cayman. There were also reports claiming that the Cayman will be distinct from Boxster by a steeper windscreen and exclusive lighting units.

Cayman’s engine preferences are yet to be unveiled. But we can presume the current power train coming with minor modifications for finer performance.

Though we don’t have an official confirmation from company, as per earlier reports we report some engine specs. That will be the 2.9-liter producing 265 hp (198 kW / 269 PS) and 280 Nm (206 lb-ft), and the 3.4-liter that will develop 315 hp (235 kW / 319 PS) and 360 Nm (266 lb-ft) of torque. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder is also a projected that can, in due course, restore 2.9-liter flat-six engine.

We anticipate the Cayman to hit the roads by the end of 2012 or early 2013.

What made us to share this with our viewers is a new report indicating that the model will offer a powerful diesel engine. Before going into details just have a look at the snaps alongside.

The model is expected to be powered by an Audi-sourced 3.0-liter V6 that develops 313 PS (230 kW / 309 hp) and 649 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is all set to make its debut in the facelifted Audi Q5.

Compared to the 3.0-liter V6 currently used in Cayenne that produces 250 PS (184 kW / 247 hp) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque, the new variant promises better engine performance.

The new Boxster will sport vital statistics that ad 60 mm (2.36 inches) at the wheelbase and 37 mm (1.46 inches) in total length, while the height loses 10 mm (0.39 inches) and the front overhang is reduced by 25 mm (0.98 inches). The two seater’s compartment will provide more legroom, 18 mm (0.70 inches).

The Boxster 981 will appear different with more panache on front and rear fascias, with its own freshly designed headlamps and taillights, a new side air intake design and a steeper windscreen. The most distinguishing feature of this Porsche model will be its flat-four powertrain that will integrate engines of the next Boxster and Cayman models.

The four-cylinder unit will displace 2.5 liters and feature a larger bore than on the current 2.7 liter engine. The 2.5 liter will be twin-turbocharged up to around the 360 bhp (268 kW / 365 PS) and 347 lb-ft (470 Nm) of torque mark.

The 981 Boxster is said to be set for officially debut in time for the Detroit Auto Show scheduled for January 2012.

Powered by a 29 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, you could easily travel up to 170 kilometers (107 miles) in any of three prototypes on a single charge. Equipped with ceramic composite regenerative brakes, an electric air conditioner, a revised instrument cluster and an active sound system the trio is almost sure to hit the mark.

One model comes up with two electric motors with an all-wheel drive system while the other two prototypes features one electric motor and a rear wheel drive system.

The two electric motors gives the former a combined output of 180 kW (241 hp / 245 PS) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the Boxter to reach up to 100 km/h in 5 seconds.  Further, it can hit a speed of 200 km/h.

Coming back to the other two prototypes, an electric motor that produces 90 kW (121 hp / 122 PS) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque helps them to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.8 seconds and attain a top speed of 150 km/h (93 mph).

The Panamera Diesel offers a driving range of more than 745 miles on one 80-litre tank, which emits 172 g of CO2 per kilometer and delivers a combined fuel economy of 43.5mpg. The price  starts at €80,183 ($119,000 U.S). Prepared to take this beauty for a spin? Don’t get excited as yet. For, it is not likely to be launched in the US soon.
