Mitsubishi has made a timely announcement regarding the Euro-spec i-MiEV. The information comes just a few weeks before the Paris Motor Show.

For those out of the know, early this year Mitsubishi made have announced that they’re working on a small lightweight crossover utility vehicle that will sit just below the Outlander and would. Things have cleared now and right on schedule, the Japanese car maker came out with a bunch of photos picturing their new Mitsubishi RVR — which by the way is expected to hit the floor either at the NAIAS or in Geneva next year.

While specs are scarce at the moment, the new Mitsubishi RVR Compact Crossover is supposedly running on a brand new 1.8-liter MIVEC petrol engine that promises better fuel efficiency than ever. Fitted with daytime LEDs, rear bumper-integrated center brake lights and a trapizoid-shaped grille in the front, there’s something about this RVR that draws attention. Isn’t it?

I’m still shocked. There’s nothing a guy like me can do when hearing stuff like that. No I’m not riding the best and the fastest cars on the roads. I write about most of them, but never got my butt into a little beast that can eat asphalt. However this new 400hp Mitsubishi Evo X FQ400, got me crying, because it’s designed for the “streets”. The Brits will be the first (as always) to get their hands on it, for a mere £45,000. We don’t have engine details but my money are on a large turbo for the all-wheel-drive FQ400. It will most likely get over 170mph (easily), have sport suspension and breaks. Lovely! – via AutoExpress.co.uk
The Mitsubishi RA concept epitomizes the meaning of sport coupe. The two seater concept has a striking body that sits neatly on a set of 21-inch wheels. The concept RA is said to be built on a lightweight aluminum space frame with high impact resistance resin body panels which turns out to be environmentally friendly as it is fully recyclable. It features a four cylinder 2,2 litre turbo diesel engine boasting a maximum output of 150kw. This power will be grounded with Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) and the twin clutch SST automated manual transmission taken from the Lancer Evo X which debuted at the Tokyo Motor Show. The S-AWC allows for improved braking and control over drive torque which ultimately results in all round better cornering, traction and vehicle stability on road. Based on looks alone this is a masculine car with its matte black hood and sharp looks.
It reminds me a bit of the Audi R8 though.
Mitsubishi and Subaru have always been head-to-head with releasing extremely aggressive (as in performances and looks) models. It’s time for Mitsubishi this year to take Lancer to the next level: a 5-door sportback sedan. Dubbed Mitsubishi Lancer Prototype S, it should be available if our sources are correct in March at Geneva.

The same sources said that judging by the looks it should have closely specs with the Evolution Ralliart model, using a 2.0 liter supercharged engine that develops 240hp, permanent all-wheel drive, active centre differential and active yaw control.
We’ll probably know more by the end of February.

Mitsubishi has released a new images of its 10th generation Lancer Evolution. The official debut will make at the 2007 Tokyo Auto Show at the end of October. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X will be launched towards the end of November. Sales of the EVO X in Europe, USA and the rest of the world will begin in mid 2008.
Here’s you chance to get a “live†glimpse of the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X performing test runs in the Nürburgring racetrack in Germany. Apart from the new lightweight and high-performance 2.0-liter turbocharged MIVEC 4-cylinder engine that’s expected to produce around 300 Hp, the new EVO X will also feature a new 6speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission (like Audi-VW’s renowned clutchless DSG gearbox). For hardcore gearheads like ourselves, Mitsubishi will also offer a traditional 6speed manual gearbox -if you’ve driven the EVO you’ll understand why.
