The Jaguar’s teaser sketch of a sub XK production concept revealed last month is now officially the new Jaguar C-X16 and it certainly is a beauty.  The new concept, that will be revealed at next week’s Frankfurt Motor Show, is a two-seat, rear-wheel-drive sports coupe built on an aluminium architecture and offers perfect 50:50 weight distribution. The car is the smallest Jaguar has built since 1954 and the XK 120. At 4445mm long, this compact car is sure to see a convertible roadster version in due course.

Up front, the car is powered by a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 putting out 376 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque.  There is also the addition of a “Push to Pass” hybrid system controlled through a steering wheel-mounted button.  Integrated into the eight-speed gearbox is an electric motor generator mounted behind the seats that draws power from a battery pack that provides 95bhp and 173lb ft of power.

According to Ian Callum, Jaguars design chief, “Jaguars have always been dramatically different. With the C-X16 we have moved the current award-winning design language on to the next generation, creating a car that is the very essence of future Jaguar performance.”

The final product, very similar to what you see here, will likely go on sale in late 2012 at a price of £55,000.

From what we hear, the two-seater XE will come in two forms – a coupe and a cabriolet. The models are likely to put up a fight with the Porsche Cayman and 911 models.

Going by the spied images, the vehicle is likely to sport a centrally-mounted twin exhaust.  We also get to see a condensed XK body and chassis. A variety of interior changes are also visible, though only one image of the innards of the vehicle has been clicked.

We are just waiting to see the car go in to production. When it happens, we guess two versions of the V6 will be at play. We will have to wait till 2013 to know more on that.

But he didn’t give away much detail about the car’s launch date or price. He said Jaguar’s Design Director Ian Callum will do something different with this. It will be slightly different, with character and panache.

Jaguar has started the tease. Every thing so far as per reports or rumors sounds exciting. What we would like to do is to wait and see is whether the dream automobile from the fantastic Jaguar Brand can actually intrude shoppers away from the Audi A6 Avant, BMW 5-Series Touring and Mercedes E-Class Estate.

As enthusiasts we would love to watch the competition of high-end cars.

The company’s global brand director has said “If you know us, you understand our badging. Otherwise it’s confusing.”

Though it has now been said that the new badging would do away with confusion, we still arent very sure as to  whether the new monikers are meant to be a overall change or just an addition of numbers to the current names. Stay tuned as we get you more details on that.

The new decision brings disappointment to anticipating car buffs, but the company’s Global Brand Director, Adrian Hallmark, has expressed his helplessness revealing that  the company is wary that the car would have to compete with the current XF. This is because both the models would have approximately the same size and looks. Thus, for preventing the complications in the market the X-type successor for roads will not be available until the enlarged XF hits the market.

Being more positive, we hope Jaguar will have more time to refine its basic model and also have more facilities integrated to it during its release in 2016 or 2017.

The new XF is highly inspired from the earlier XJ. The bold exterior is stunning with its freshly sported front fascia incorporating a revised grille and bi-xenon headlights merged with LED daytime running light.

The refreshed exterior is complemented by new alloy wheel choices and paint hues. There’s a new hood, modified front fenders and redesigned LED taillights.

Interior designs are subtle but include improved seats, revised switchgear, a digital instrument cluster, instrument panel, optional 1200W Bowers & Wilkins premium surround sound system , and a new infotainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen display.

Engine options carry over with the exception of a new 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel that produces 190 PS (140 kW / 187 hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, hit a top speed of 225 km/h (140 mph), and average 52.3 mpg UK (5.4 L/100km / 43.5 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of 149 g/km.

Jaguar XKR-S features a new front bumper and is equipped with LED-infused headlights. We also noticed the alluring mesh grilles as well as side skirts the car features. Other exquisite additions include new front fenders, a sporty rear diffuser, and a massive rear wing.

Under the hood, the XKR-S has got a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine with 550 PS (405 kW / 542 hp) and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque. Acceleration for 0-60 mph takes 4.2 seconds and 0-100 mph is attained in 8.6 seconds.

The vehicle offers a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h). The model has a heavily revised suspension and a reprogrammed Adaptive Dynamics system as well.

The vehicle, however sports a reasonable revision, we suppose, thereby adding more style to the entire structure. That is what could be concluded from the camouflage featured on this updated 2012 Jaguar XF. There has been substantial revisions to the front and rear ends of the car as well.

The most noticeable change incorporated in the vehicle is that the front fascia now includes a larger grille and new headlights. There are more camouflaged areas such as side wings, bonnet and trunk. So we can expect of more revisions.

Well, nothing regarding the engines is out yet. But it is likely that that the manufacturer have no plans of introducing a new power plant. However, they are likely to feature the hybrid variant, the same one they have used in such a prototype some time before.

The Black Pack will also be endowing the XF model with a gloss black grill and black window surrounds, and gives options in the color palette including a paint finish in Polaris White, Ultimate Black, Spectrum Blue, Stratus Gray, Lunar Gray, Liquid Silver and the Kyanite Blue and Salsa Red from the XFR palette.

According to information from the company, the Black Pack for the Jaguar XF is available on the Diesel S, the XFR and the naturally aspirated 5.0 liter variants. Customers who want the Black Pack will have to shell out upwards of £950 (€1,084).

What most people are eager to hear is how successful Jaguar will be when it comes to building the turbine engines that the concept had. Sources at Jaguar have stated that it would be two or three years before the turbine technology could be implemented, followed by another three or four year period which would be required to integrate it into a vehicle.

The upside to this is that making a gas turbine engine is more affordable – it has fewer parts than the internal combustion engine has and therefore, has fewer mechanical processes that can potentially go wrong. Now that the word is that production of the concept is a possibility – it remains to be seen how and when Jaguar will make this a reality.
