The EcoBoost unit in the next Focus ST could provide as much as 300 bhp of power and will employ the torque vectoring technology created by Ford to channel that power to the front wheels of the car and to help the car grip the road as much as possible.

The new Focus ST will also be capable of bursting from 0 to 100 kmph speeds in a matter of 6 seconds and has a maximum speed of 250 kmph (155 mph). It will also be more fuel efficient than the existing Focus ST model and is expected to release in 2011, after the Europe launch of the hatchback and wagon variant of the Ford Focus in April 2011.

Ford Focus, the small family car which has taken the world captive with its astounding sales numbers is back again adorning an all new look. Spies have managed to capture a test mule of the 2011 Ford Focus Hatchback for the very first time. Prior of this, the spy photographers managed to capture the Sedan and Wagon versions but the Hatchback was a mystery until now. The Focus will be available for purchase in 2010 as a 2011 model and will hopefully be coming with several different versions of turbocharged engines. Debuted at the British Auto Show a couple of months ago, the new Ford Focus RS has officially made it to production. With a sporty exterior that features a black grille, some sporty hood vents, a rear spoiler and diffuser, a dual exhaust, 19-inch wheels and Recaro wheels, the RS looks pretty mean. And it is mean. Under the hood there’s a five-cylinder 2.5l turbocharged engine that sports 296hp and gets the car from still to 60mph in just 5.9 seconds. Top speed is 155mph (electronically topped) but should easily reach 160 mph if the limiter would be removed. As for the price, in UK they’re expecting it to sell for a bit below £25,000 (some $30,000).

New Ford Focus Will Look Awesome

Published by on Nov 11th, 2008, 4 Comments

The middle class battle is getting crazier and crazier now that the new Ford Focus leaked on the Internet. The guys at Auto Express published a rendering of how this little fella might look like. Other than the aggressive look they’ve also got some specs and we’re interested.

new ford focus rendering New Ford Focus Will Look Awesome

The EcoBoost engines start with the 1.0 liter that develops 89 to 109 hp and the best looking is the 1.6 liter turbo that sports from 148 to 178hp. Of course there are diesel engines, too. I’m talking of a 1.6 liter TDCi ranging from 89 to 128 hp and a 2.0 liter that outputs from 168hp to 197hp. It looks like Scirocco and the new Megane will have a “pretty” competitor by the end of 2010 when it’s supposed to go on sale. – via AU
