Lamborghini’s senior executive Stephan Winkelmann has hinted at the company’s plans of adding another model to the Lamborghini line-up. Going by what he has said, a third model in the line up would fit Lamborghini very well. Though not many details have been revealed, it is expected that the new vehicle would be a four-door car.

The next edition of the Range Rover SUV will feature an upgraded engine as per a letter received by some German dealerships. The current model lineage is powered by a 3.6-liter V8 variant, however the 2011 model will feature a more powerful 4.4-liter V8 turbodiesel option. The better engine incorporation will make the Range Rover a more expensive vehicle in 2011 as it will be priced at €88,900, €3,000 more than the current generation model. The official press release of the 2011 Range Rover will be held on June 17 this year while in July, Range Rover will be celebrating its 40 years of existence, following which the sales will begin in October this year.

In a recent news announcement coming from Ford, we just heard that the company plans on coming out with 9 new engines and 6 new transmissions for 2010. Ford has shown great interest and is determined to upgrade all their engines, and although largely meant for the North American market, the new technology — to an extent — is borrowed from its European operations. That means that in 2010 we can expect 9 new engines and 6 new transmissions that include the Ti-VCT 305 horsepower, a 3.7 liter V6 for the 2011 Mustang or the V8 5.0 liter with 412 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque for the 2011 Mustang GT.

Mustang fanatics predicted it and now Ford has officially confirmed that the 2011 Mustang GT will come with a new 5.0 liter V8 engine. The previous model featured a 4.6L V8 that was doing nothing less than 315hp and 325lb-ft of torque, while the upgraded engine will take the pony count to 412hp at 390lb-ft of torque and it will also improve the car’s fuel efficiency even though there’s a six-speed automatic transmission mated to the engine — 17mpg in the city and 25mpg on the highway. The extra mileage is courtesy of a combination of Ti-VCT, EPAS systems and an additional rear decklid seal that specifically improves aerodynamics. As for those who’d like the old six-speed manual, there aren’t any changes for that one.

Mercedes four wheeles that house the naturally aspirated 6.3L V8 unit will have a different variant under the hood, come 2010. The 6.3-liter AMG V8 will make way for a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine and the new engine models will start selling in the last quarter of 2010. The official unraveling of the engine will happen at next year’s Paris Motor Show following which the engine will hit the production facility. Mercedes wants to focus on better fuel economy whilst also reducing the emissions however performance is something the brand will not like to sacrifice as that could hurt the sales figures. The naturally aspirated V8 variant renders between 450 and 520hp with 440 lb-ft of torque. As far as the economy goes, the city numbers reflect 12mpg which are bettered on the highway by 7mpg.
