If you were thinking one of those upcoming Mercedes E-Class, Kicherer has plans for you. They recently announced a tuning package (based on the new E-Class AMG sports package) that includes carbon fiber body paneling, front and rear spoilers, side mirror covers and rear bumper that adds to its sportiness. But there’s more to it. Kicherer has added a set of 20-inch forged alloy wheels for style, a twin-piped performance exhaust system to raise its badass karma and a tuned suspension for one of the best rides you’ve ever had. We don’t have prices yet, but if you can afford a new E-class, we’re pretty sure Kicherer won’t get you broke … [via auto-motor-und-sport.de]

New Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe

Published by on Feb 17th, 2009, 1 Comment

State of the art technology, elegant lines and an amazing interior, are the definitory rules for the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe. Expected to surprise visitors in Geneva next month, the E-Class Coupe is meant to replace the discontinued CLK and from the first pictures, we think they managed to do a great job. Designed with no B-pillars and completely retractable side windows, Mercedes-Benz promotes it as the “world’s most aerodynamically efficient series-production car”. With two engine options – new E 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY diesel that outputs 200 hp and 500 Nm of torque, and the petrol E 250 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY that outputs the same 200hp but only 310 Nm of torque, the car is expected to start selling in Europe at the begining of May. We definitely want it in SA asap. It’s a dream car, indeed.

Made of a special steel and all-around polycarbonate, the new E-Guard package for the new W212 E-Class lineup is an amazing protection system that many would crave for. Resisting attacks from a DM51 hand-grenade or a .44 Magnum firearm, the new E-Guard system is highly sophisticated. It has an intercom system that will allow its passenger to communicate with everyone on the outside without opening the windows, features 17-inch runflat tires, adapted AIRMATIC suspension and brakes, and has three engine variants. With a €45,000 price tag in Germany, you can only expect it to go for some $60,000. Talk about security and comfort … right?

Spied and hunted for the last few months, there’s not much you can comment when we get to look at something like that. These are leaked official images of the new Mercedes E-Class Coupe that the folks from AutoBlog.nl managed to get their hands on. Previously known as the CLK, there are many changes that make that car more attractive than before. We’re talking about those sa twin-blade chromed grille, a twin-blade chromed grille, an integrated rear diffuser and what appears to be rear LED lights. We’re not sure if that’s an AMG version or not, but from what we see it’s an amazing design. A top seller. Mercedes-Benz is expect to show it off during the 2009 Auto Show in Geneva.

Do we love spyshots or not? Well we certainly do, and when it’s something as good as the 2010 Mercedes E-Class Coupe we’re even more thrilled to show it off. With an improved nose design that includes  two large horizontal lines on the grille and with a back that doesn’t make us fall in love, it’s the motorization that also got our interest: a 3.5 liter V6, a 5.4 liter V8 and an uprated 6.2 liter AMG V8. The new E-Class Coupe is going to be showed off next year at Geneva, so hold your horses while we find out more about it. [via WCF]
