For those with enough money to buy new rubber every two weeks, how about some serious drifting examples? Check out a Nissan 350Z Turbo against a Dodge Viper on the drifting wall in New Jersey. Boy these guys know what they’re doing. And the cars, they look … but better not talk about the cars. Just watch!

Be safe and don’t do that on the roads. Go for a track field instead!

How to drift with a Maybach 62 S

Maybach 62 S is not exactly the car I’d buy to drift like a god, but rather drive it in town to get a couple of chicks. However, there are people that would like to use all the 612hp to make it run as fast as possible even thought it weighs 2,800 kg (6,184 lbs). So how hard do you think it is to drift with a Maybach 62? Imagine sitting in the back with a tuxedo, some fine champagne, cigars and a skilled driver that would take curves … “that” way. It must be fun.

Scion RS*R tC Wants in Formula Drift

There’s a new car in the Formula Drift Championship. It’s a Scion that was customized by RS*R the company in charge with manufacturing exhaust and suspensions. The Scrion RS*R tC is based on a front-wheel-drive tC Sports Coupe but was changed and thanks to a longitudinal engine it now sends power directly to the rear wheels.

The engine is going to be powerful using a set of neat features, a 3SGE Beams motor, HKS GT3037 turbo and intercooler, Blitz Dual SBC boost controller and AEM EMS engine management system. All in all the new Scion RS*R tC is going to sport 400 hp.

Jack Hollis, Scion VP said “Scion has participated in motorsports for three years and the fan support has been incredible. Drifting is an exciting, emerging motorsport with a dedicated and intense fan base. We think the fans will be just as excited as we are about our RS*R Scion tC as it demonstrates one of Scion’s primary philosophies, customization.”

Wesbank Wednesday Nights still rocking the party

Almost every wednesday night of the year Wesbank Raceway is packed with people, barring a short break over the christmas period or if the heavens open up. This has been going on for many years and yet no one seems to be getting bored of it. Infact, the exact oposite is happening, the wednesday night scene has never seen so many people with an estimated 5000 strong entrants.

It is the perfect place to take your turbocharged, nitrous filled, free flowed car to have a few runs, test out a few settings and even sit down to a nice cold beer and talk about cars all night (Just remember not to drink and drive). Once you have had enough of the hundreds of cars literally running up and down the drag strip you can go enjoy one of the many numerous activities that happen at the super motorsport complex.

Drifting, Spinning and the Skidpan are some of the other activities you can participate in and will keep you entertained every week for hours on end. So get down to Wesbank Raceway every wednesday and absorb the sound of dump valves, free flows and screeching tires. For me, the biggest problem I have with wednesday nights is that I have to wake up the next morning to go to work.
