Ever dreamt of sailing over those long lines of cars on the highway? You may soon get to see something of that sort happening in China! The Communist nation is planning a huge bus that can drive over cars. Take a look at the picture below to see what it would look like.

The idea has taken birth at the Shenzhen Huashi Future Car-Parking Equipment Company. The so called 3D Express Coach is expected to be completed by the end of next year. More pictures below:

The awesome bus will travel on rails and straddles two lanes of traffic, allowing cars to drive 15 feet below where its passengers are seated. It will hold 1,200 people and travel up to 50 miles per hour.

Its $7.5 million price tag is roughly one-tenth of what it costs to build a subway of the same length. The gigantic bus is expected to solve Beijing’s traffic problems. But what if the idea is transplanted to some highway in South Africa? It really won’t work in South Africa. We do not want to think twice before agreeing with the friend who sent us these pictures. Check out the photo below to know what we are talking about!

Spyker is taking C8 Spyder GT2 on a China jaunt. The car, a special edition car, is expected to bring to the fore Chinese design elements in abundance in its looks. Based on the same platform as the Spyker C8 Aileron Spyder, the GT2 will, however, be like the C8 Laviolette LM85 – a street-legal version of the C8 Laviolette GT2R.

Spyker will throw in the LM85′s powertrain into the GT2 and a 4.2-liter V8 sourced from Audi. The engine would be capable of 400 hp (298 kW / 406 PS) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque and will be linked up with a Getrag six-speed manual transmission. We are being told that the special edition street legal car could come about as a longer, wider, and more comfortable for the driver vehicle. With China set be the second largest market after the US for Spyker, the decision to lure Chinese comes about as natural. More China specific models are also said to be in the pipeline.

Spyker might bring in the C8 Spyder GT2 right in for an October launch, it is being speculated. Let’s wait and watch to know what’s on the pricing front.

Long Wheelbase premium models are fast becoming popular in Beijing amongst the multi-millionaires that hail from the growing Asian markets. Bearing this demand in mind, Mercedes is unveiling the LWB version of its Mercedes-Benz E-Class in China and one of those automobiles were spotted outside the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. Mercedes is rolling out this LWB edition in collaboration with Beijing Auto and the model will likely be dubbed the Beijing Benz E300L. The LWB E-Class is 7mm shorter in height than the standard model but the overall length is 14-centimeters longer. [Images by auto.sohu.com]

Spy photographers finally headed elsewhere to catch a glimpse of the models ready to invade the Asian markets and they managed to capture the 2011 Buick Excelle compact sedan. The commuter based on the highly successful Opel Astra Platform was caught undisguised in China.

From what we see it features a waterfall grille, distinctive headlights, hood-mounted porthole vents, and controversial taillights. On the inside the 2011 Buick Excelle appears discreetly similar to the Astra minus the badge on the steering wheel. The Chinese model of this automobile shall be showcased at the Beijing auto show while the US aspirers of the Buick Excelle will have to wait a little longer. It is noteworthy that Buick has already released a hatchback version of this car — Excelle XT hatchback in China only and that variant looks utterly different that this sedan.

Peugeot enjoys overwhelming sales success in China especially because of its peculiarly designed cars that cater to the needs of the Chinese customers. Keeping in mind those customers, Peugeot revealed the 2011 408 Sedan at the Beijing Motor Show.

The sedan that will go into production in Wuhan, China, is a long-wheelbase commuter based on the 308 and it offers more space to the passengers at the back. The Peugeot 408 is 4.63 meters long and it features a large sunroof and a self-contained trunk which ensures that the cabin is light and spacious. This long-wheelbase sedan is not to be confused with the future 508 model as that is suppose to replace the 407 and the 607 in the European markets next year. Peugeot is heavily banking on the interior spaciousness and the design to fetch a minimum of 100,000 unit sales in China.

China has recently undergone a lot of development in its car market sector, and is rapidly climbing to the top of the world’s vehicle trade. Thus, it’s no wonder that Volkswagen have decided to generate presence there by introducing their latest, visually evolved Tiguan.

It’s still unclear whether or not the new design is meant for the Chinese market exclusively, so it’s still possible that the European and American versions of the car will look differently. However, knowing VW’s way of doing things, this is highly unlikely at the moment. Visually, the car appears to share a lot with the current Scirocco and Golf models, creating a nice consistent flow in VW’s design decisions. The technological details about the vehicle are still unknown, so we’ll have to wait for VW to reveal those.

Like Johan, there are many of us that like to pedal to the metal.

The first thing that came to my mind when seeing this picture was to thank God, that’s not the way our authorities try to block speed. Authorities in the Chinese ShanXi province built what looks like miniature versions of the Great Wall to prevent you from speeding. It’s 30 meter (100 ft) long, 2.7 meter (9 ft) and 60 cm (2 ft) tall, made of cement and does a great job at keeping you running slow.

There’s a question to it though. What if you can’t see it … ? Let’s hope our people in South Africa are not to going to put something like that on the streets.
