Who is the King of the Ring?

Published by on Dec 7th, 2007, 4 Comments

The Pagani Zonda F has held the top spot for a power lap on the track of the internationally famous BBC motoring show, Top Gear. Unfortunately it was toppled by the Koenigsegg CCX (with Top Gear spoiler) and the Zonda F had made its home at the number 2 spot for awhile. Many supercars have tried to beat these two but failed, with only the T1 Caparo succeeding and then only to be thrown off the record by Jeremy Clarkson as they have not provided a car with a road going adjustable suspension. So the Pagani continued to live in its number 2 spot.

Although very impressive, this has not stopped Pagani from improving. They have released a Zonda F Clubsport edition. Power is up from from the 443kW Zonda F to 502 kW for the F Clubsport. The company promises a 3.5 second sprint to 100 km/h, a top speed of over 345 km/h depending on the set up and it will be the queen in braking from 300 km/h to 0.

Strangely though when the word Nurburgring comes to mind, the natural tendacy is to think that the Bugatti Veyron as the production car king. Despite all the myths about lap times at the Norschleife it’s the Zonda F Clubsport that now holds the record for the fastest lap by any production super car, lapping the 21km ring in 7 minutes 27.82 seconds, beating the previous record holder, the Porsche Carrera GT. It seems raw top speed is no substitute for superior handling.

So if Top Gear gets hold of this model before the new Koensigsegg CCXR or the revised street legal T1 Caparo, there might be strong possibility that the Zonda F CS could regain the top spot even if its for a short while. After all it is “king of the ring”.

Bugatti Veyron Targa, Rumor Going On

The market is full of Bugatti Veyron rumors with new models rendered but nothing real. However, our sources today have just announced they have inside people that confirmed the new Bugatti Veyron Targa -the topless Bugatti – is already live and running (they’re probably testing it) with sales starting next year.

We all know that a Veyron can reach 400km/h but this is not going to happen with Veyron Targa because it will be limited to 340km/h, but don’t worry this convertible will put a lot eyes on you if you drive it. One small drawback: ýou can’t take the Targa panel with you when you drive open.
Rumors say that Bugatti ordered 400 engines and that all orders have already been filled out.

Let’s see if this rumor confirms.

Bugatti Veyron crash video

Here we go again with people that have more money than driving talent. Watch this Bugatti Veyron crash video to see how to put your Bugatti Veyron tail first into a fence.

After the Enzo crash and a few others it was just about time for the Veyron to meet a talentless driver and the repair shop. I wonder how much this little spin cost the owner.

Worked BMW M3 vs Bugatti Veyron

During our late last night chat, our friend Vincent from sent us this cool video link of an airstrip drag race between a Bugatti Veyron and a BMW M3 E92. Prior to the drag race (we hope you’re not seriously going to ask us who won), Dutch racing driver Ho-Pin Tung decided that he should warm up a bit the bimmers tires. And what smoky warm up that was!

Caparo T1

The Bugatti Veyron’s reign as fastest accelerating supercar seems to have met its fate. The soon-to-be world’s fastest accelerating car has broken cover during the final stages of test and development. The Caparo T1 is a high performance two-seater sports car with highly resolved aerodynamics, which has been designed with the looks and performance of a Formula One race car. The T1’s 500 kg weight and 550 bhp give it a power-to-weight ratio of 1100 bhp/tonne – better than any current supersport motorcycle and approaching that of a genuine F1 car. (more…)

It’s ‘Veyron Time’ at the Gumball 3000

Published by on Apr 24th, 2007, No Comments

It is that time of the year when the entire automotive buzz comes to literal halt, irrespective of what related event is in progress for it is April and the only place the buffs want to be at, is the Gumball!

The Bugatti Veyron will feature in this years run. It is being equipped with Laser Pro Park, a system that is basicly a parking aid with a twist. Other than helping you park the over a million dollar Bugatti Veyron in small parking spots it somehow makes it impossible for laserguns to get a reading. This means you can drive the Bugatti at speeds it’s made for without having to worry about a big fine from a cop with a lasergun!

The present buzzz is the fact that Veyron will be the new entry into the famous run and the most expensive entrant to date.

Keep watching ZoopedTube for videos from the run posted daily!
