Rumormill: Bugatti Royale could make a stunning Debut at Frankfurt

Published by on Apr 7th, 2009, 1 Comment

If what is going around on the inside lanes of the auto world is supposed to be true, then this year’s Frankfurt Auto Show could be a very significant stop for every car lover in general and Bugatti lovers in particular. Apparently the company is planning on launching a new ultra-luxurious and evolutionary step ahead for the Veyron in the form of what is being called the Bugatti Royale. It is not just the grand Royale though that is doing rounds as even a car named “Lydia”, is apparently being chalked up by the makers for the future. Lydia is slated to be a super supercar that will top the Veyron in every aspect (including the price tag) with a turned-up version of the current 8-liter quad-turbo W16 engine powering it. We will have to wait on both of them for now! [autoblog.com and autoweb.cz]

Bugatti Centenaire, Will Rock Geneva

Published by on Feb 25th, 2009, 4 Comments

Celebrating their amazing heritage with over 100 years of experience in building supercars, Bugatti is expected to continue the legend and bring in a new concept for the next week’s Auto Show in Geneva. Dubbed Bugatti Centenaire (great name isn’t it?) it’s not a pimped or facelifted Veyron, but actually a new design that uses a crazy 8.0 liter, 16 cylinder (W16) quad-turbo Bugatti engine that is rumored to output a stunning 1350 hp. None of these have been confirmed yet, but we’re pretty sure the Bugatti stall will be on fire this year. The Frenc definitely know how to make the most of the ultra-luxury brand’s birthday. Don’t you think? – via autoblog.nl

$2.9 Million for the First Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Roadster

Published by on Aug 19th, 2008, 2 Comments

No, we’ll probably never afford to buy a Bugatti Veyron but at least we can read about it on Car Blog, right? Okay, here’s the deal. Apparently the first Grand Sport Roadster version, which is actually a street-legal beast, is going to be sold for $2.9 million. Those are American dollars, indeed, which makes it one of the most expensive cars on Earth, with the most powerful and advanced technology under the hood.

The official price is 1.4 million euros (~ 2 million dollars) excluding taxes so the lucky owner of the first new Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Roadster only paid $900,000 to be first. Auctioneers Gooding & Co. too care of it. Here’s the video:

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Roadster

Published by on Aug 4th, 2008, No Comments

Just when I thought that Bugatti can’t come up with a new amazing, stunning, incredible (continue the list) new Veyron, here’s what they did. Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Roadster. The new Veyron 16.4 which by the way comes with a removable roof, will receive its public debut at this year’s Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance, on August 16th, 2008.

With “innovative structural solutions” compensating for the lack of structural integrity which normally provided by a roof, they managed to come up with a car that is not sacrificing performance and safety for the looks. First one will be built in the Spring of 2009 and will be auctioned the next ya and the renowned Gooding auction at the Equestrian Center at Pebble Beach.

Guess we started the week with the right foot. I declare it the car of the week, no matter what.

Plans for a street-legal faster Bugatti, in the works

Published by on Jan 12th, 2008, 9 Comments

“Project Lydia” is the new street-legal car that Bugatti is supposed to work on to make it faster than the Veyron, announced the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport. Though it’s just on paper right now, it is supposed to use a 12-cylinder engine that sports some 1,175 hp and tops at 400km/h (248 mph).

And like we wouldn’t have enough Bugatti rumors, “Project Lydia” is supposed to be a mix between racing and design with Bugatti’s characteristic front grille staying, a huge rear spoiler, front air splitter and the extreme lowered chassis and engine positioning. When it comes to performances, they expect a Nurburgring Nordschliefe lap time of 6 minutes and 40 seconds which is 1 minute better then the Veyron.

Here are a two more sketches on how it might look.

“Project Lydia” named after Ettor Bugatti’s wife Lydia, is going to cost a mere 2.5 Million euros and may become the new king of the ring with only 70 (lucky) owners getting their hands on it. I bet the Sheiks are alerted already, because in 2010 we may see it running nicely on those 20-inch big wheels.
