Bugatti has custom made the Grand Sport L’Or Blanc (White Gold) and showed it off. The car comes with porcelain elements in and out; quite unlikely for a high speed motor car convertible.

Going by what Sales and Marketing Director Dr. Stefan Brungs feels, the new White Gold brings in “exceptional ideas whilst striving for the utmost in quality and aesthetics”. The L’Or Blanc edition will cost €1.65 ($2.40 / £1.49) million.

The company believes that building Porsches from North America or China wouldn’t break the tradition since earlier they had given the production of Boxster to Valmet contract manufacturers in Finland.

Porsche is also expected to open a customer centre in China and a test track in Shanghai close to a Formula One track. The company’s dealers in China would be increased from 35 to 85 and then possibly to 100.

It is expected that, during this year itself, Porsche would make a decision on whether to start production from North America or Asia. Porsche might start building their upcoming SUV Cajun in a Volkswagen factory in China.

Apparently the same factory builds the Audi Q5 (SUV). The previous Karmann factory in Osnabrueck, Germany – now acquired by VW – will be used to boost the production of Boxster and Cayman. VW will use the plant to manufacture Golf Cabriolet.

Porsche is merging with VW, making it VW group’s 10^th brand along with the likes of Audi AG, Bentley, Bugatti , Lamborghini, Skoda etc. This happened after VW obtained 49.9% of Porsche Automobil Holding SE’s carmaking unit when Porsche last year failed in a bid to takeover VW.

The forthcoming model will feature different look, adapting certain inspired features from the original Veyron concept. 8.0 liter W16 engine laden with four turbochargers coupled to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox will power the vehicle. It will yield an output of 1,200 bhp (895 kW / 1217 PS) and 1,500 Nm of torque, similar to that of the current model Veyron.

The new Veyron will have a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of around 2.5 seconds and slightly inch past the Super Sport’s performance numbers by means of weight-saving measures. The vehicle will incorporate thinner glass and lighter alloy wheels to reduce overall weight by about 100 kg (220 lbs) as compared to its predecessor.

The new Veyron with a price tag of over £1 million (€1.2 million), is to debut sometime in 2013 and will go on sale in 2014.

The car is reputed to be the one that will bring back to Shelby Super Cars the glory of once again holding the production car speed record that Bugatti snatched away through the making of the Veyron Supersport. The Aero II is SSC’s response to that challenge.

The Aero II is lighter than the Veyron and weighs just 2,600 pounds – helped by wheels that are the world’s first one-piece carbon-fiber units.

This coupled with several other engineering feats – which have the car using carbon fiber all over – except for the aluminum bracing that has been placed – make this a lightweight speed machine.

With a power –weight ratio that is almost double that of the Veyron, this is one car that is sure to set a record.

When it arrives at retail for consumers, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport will boast of an engine that will be tuned to deliver 1,200 hp and up to 1,500 Nm (1106 lb-ft) of torque.  The bigger turbochargers and intercoolers incorporated would provide the extra bit of power we are talking about.

Spruced up with added efficiency in the aerodynamics scene, the car will come with carbon monocoque benefits thanks to a new carbon fiber structure which lightens weight and adds rigidity.

Bugatti is expected to begin production of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport by around this fall.  The car maker will sell the first five cars as part of a limited series called the World Record Edition.

The Bugatti Veyron had achieved its title after breaking the 255.83 mph record set by the previous model of the Aero called the Ultimate Aero TT. The new Ultimate Aero will require more than the 1,183 hp present in the Aero TT to become faster than the Veyron Super Sport, which has a 1,200 hp-engine and has set a record top speed of 268 mph.

The designer of the new Ultimate Aero, Jason Castriota, will also have to make sure that the design does not cause aerodynamic drag, besides ensuring better power features for the car.

So does the Veyron Super Sport have a reason to be scared? The answer will be revealed on August 8.

Bugatti has climbed on to the top position, post a June 26 drive when test driver Pierre Henri Raphanel drove an orange-and-black Veyron 16.4 Super Sport to an average top speed of 268 mph (431 kph).

The last owner of the car was Marco Schmuklerski, an architect who’s buildings very famous around the country. Experts estimate suggest the real true value of the car could top around €90,000. The vehicle can very potentially be restored, or could be easily be used as a display piece.

The car’s identity was tracked through its engine number and chassis number, 879, 2461 respectively, and gearbox number, 964.
