The Super Sport Sang Noir, that was displayed at the Geneva Motor show earlier this year,  has been customized with two-tone matte black and orange seats and a carbon fibre exterior. In addition, the speed has been limited to 257 mph to protect its tyres.

The car displays just 864 miles on the odometer and offers some interior options like door sill plates in black matt Lambo painted with the  ‘Sang Noir’ logo in tangerine. Tangerine stitching on black leather and black stitching on tangerine leather, the centre console logo ‘Sang Noir’ in black and black anodized EB logo on the steering wheel are some other interior features.

The exterior has transparent rear lights, diamond-cut Super Sport alloys finished in black. Also included are black brake calipers, roof rails in aluminum and a reversing camera. The Sports car comes with an 8.0 litre 16-cylinder turbocharged engine with 1,200 PS and a torque of 1,500 Nm.

The forthcoming model will feature different look, adapting certain inspired features from the original Veyron concept. 8.0 liter W16 engine laden with four turbochargers coupled to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox will power the vehicle. It will yield an output of 1,200 bhp (895 kW / 1217 PS) and 1,500 Nm of torque, similar to that of the current model Veyron.

The new Veyron will have a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of around 2.5 seconds and slightly inch past the Super Sport’s performance numbers by means of weight-saving measures. The vehicle will incorporate thinner glass and lighter alloy wheels to reduce overall weight by about 100 kg (220 lbs) as compared to its predecessor.

The new Veyron with a price tag of over £1 million (€1.2 million), is to debut sometime in 2013 and will go on sale in 2014.

The car can speed up from 0-100kmph in just 3.4 seconds and the four 195-horsepower (145-kW) takes it to 300kmph in less time than the world’s fastest Bugatti Veyron. The company has introduced the model as they celebrate their 75^th anniversary. Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum, in one of the videos, calls the car a celebration.

Jaguar Head of Research Tony Harper stated in one video that the car will be just a demonstration for what Jaguar is expected to do in the future. Julian Thomson, Jaguar’s Head of Advanced Design added that the ride on the car will be like sitting in the eye of the storm or right in the center of that powertrain.

Adding to the expectations Thomson has been quoted as saying  that the car launched will be a fantastic experience, unlike anything anyone has ever driven before.

Final testing is still going on with the prototypes, but it’s clear that the V8 Atom can accelerate from 0-60mph in under 2.5sec and from 0-100mph in well under 6.0sec. Ariel seeks to outdo Bugatti Veyron by targeting 2.3sec and 5.4sec respectively.

A US-built, 3.0-litre, 32-valve Hartley V8 engine has been used. This was originally developed from two Suzuki motorcycle engines grafted together, but has seen a lot of development going into it since. The Atom V8 rides on a gold chassis and wheels and every car will have a full set of Ariel’s aerodynamic wings in carbonfibre, which will be optional on lesser models.

Brakes are twin-pot Alcons front and rear, tires are soft-compound, X-rated Toyos, seats and driving position are standard, and a Race Technology configurable instrument pack and has a built-in data logger are included.

Only 25 Atom V8s will be made, which will be on sale early next year. The pricing is set at £150,000.

The Bugatti Veyron had achieved its title after breaking the 255.83 mph record set by the previous model of the Aero called the Ultimate Aero TT. The new Ultimate Aero will require more than the 1,183 hp present in the Aero TT to become faster than the Veyron Super Sport, which has a 1,200 hp-engine and has set a record top speed of 268 mph.

The designer of the new Ultimate Aero, Jason Castriota, will also have to make sure that the design does not cause aerodynamic drag, besides ensuring better power features for the car.

So does the Veyron Super Sport have a reason to be scared? The answer will be revealed on August 8.

Bugatti has climbed on to the top position, post a June 26 drive when test driver Pierre Henri Raphanel drove an orange-and-black Veyron 16.4 Super Sport to an average top speed of 268 mph (431 kph).

The event that got underway at the VW Group’s test facility at Ehra-Leissien saw the Veyron Super Sport tumble all high-speed records. The question as to who is the fastest has been remaining unanswered for quite a while now.

The Veyron Super Sport is a much higher version that the usual Veyron we usually get to see. The company has thrown in additional power and has increased it to 1,200 hp, while the quad turbo W16 would return torque at 1,106 pound-feet.

The car has ensured this via its enlarged turbochargers and intercoolers. The company has also incorporated in the Veyron Super Sport a redone suspension that is capable of managing aero downforce at speeds about 260 mph.

It may be the most expensive production car in the world but for McLaren F1 Executive Chairman, Ron Dennis, the Bugatti Veyron is “a complete piece of junk.” There’s nothing about the Veyron to make Ron feel good and he says that the four-wheeler is pig ugly and cannot handle very well. He mentioned that the 16-cylinder engine is only taken out by cutting the car and this huge engine is one reason the car doesn’t do well around corners. Dennis recollected how the Bugatti was not able to defeat the McLaren F1 on Top Gear, though the crew was supposed to film exactly the opposite. McLaren is busy producing the MP4-12C lightweight supercar which renders 600bhp courtesy of its 3.8L twin-turbo engine but it is supposedly not the flagship variant.

The Bugatti Veyron driver has been identified being Andy House, the owner of Performance Auto Sales in Lufkin, a company that restores wrecked exotics.

Couldn’t spot the pelican he claimed causing him to swerve as he said earlier. The man’s handphone had slipped out of the car’s centre console and he reached to retrieve it from the floorboard, Houston Chronicle reported.

When he sat up, he was startled by a pelican flying low alongside the Bugatti and the front tyre subsequently strayed onto the shoulder of the road.

The man couldn’t regain control, the police told Houston Chronicle. There were no indications that the driver was speeding. (He should still be arrested)
