BMW is thinking more seriously about the safety of its cars and the passengers in cases of a collision, hence why they have resorted to anticipatory assistance systems.

Once such technology is preventive brake intervention and the German premium automobile manufacturer has successfully crash tested this system on the new 5 series (530d) model in collaboration with DEKRA. The intervention of this technology helps a 64km/h impact reduce to 40km/h as the automobile senses danger and applies automatic brakes not waiting for the driver to respond in such cases. The car’s advanced sensors first sense a probable collision and issue a warning to the driver and then the automatic brakes kick in. This may impress NCAP but what is ironical is that NCAP crash tests cars without applying the brakes.

The BMW 5-series GT has been leaked, and is causing a buzz across the internet. Car fans around the world are anxiously anticipating its release, after seeing it’s mock up design earlier this year. The sedan is designed to have much more leg room than the previous model, and sitting space for 4 people. As with previous models in the series, this one is expected to have as much torque power as the past versions, possibly even more. Meaning that we’ll get to see the 306hp 3.0-litre twin turbo petrol or turbo diesel or the 408 hp 4.4-litre twin turbo V8, in action. It will be released in Platinum Bronze Metallic paint with chrome, has 17-inch alloy wheels and a wooden interior, making it a perfect luxury car for the family.

BMW 5 Series Lifestyle version

This one is going to be released in Neptune Blue and has a satin-finish chrome design.

BMW 5 Series Sport editions

Now if you’re after sport versions then you get to choose from Imola Red or Le Mans Blue as a unique color and the 18-inch M wheels, a M sport suspension and a body kit would definitely be great add-ons.
