We are sure used to admiring the bimmers but this time around there is a different task at hand. We’ll be more inclined towards admiring ‘The Dwelling Lab’ which is a BMW 5-Series Gran Turismo inspired sculpture showcased during Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. The Sculpture aspires to make the people focus on the interior of the car first rather than the exterior as we do under normal circumstances. It is formed of five conical geometric shapes that jut out to invite the onlookers. The sculpture is sponsored by BMW, along with Danish textile specialists Kvadrat and Italian lighting firm Flos. Spanish architectural designer Patricia Urquiola and Italian designer Giulio Ridolfo have together finished this mammoth sculpture which aims to render a dwelling experience.

‘Wagden’ for most auto freaks remains an alien term and to avoid confusions, it is the combination of a wagon and a sedan. The best possible example is the BMW 5-Series GT tuned by AC Schnitzer which was taken off the veil at the ongoing Geneva Auto Show.

The AC Schnitzer tuning program gets an added front and rear spoilers along with more aggressive looking side skirts and a ventilated hood. Other noticeable changes include a redesigned rear end, an all new set of wheels and chrome exhaust tips. On the inside, the AC Schnitzer tuned BMW 5-Series GT gets aluminium pedals, an all new cover for the i-Drive controller and pleasing velour footmats. The tuning program also kicks up the performance with a 41HP power boost to the engine.

The BMW 5-series GT has been leaked, and is causing a buzz across the internet. Car fans around the world are anxiously anticipating its release, after seeing it’s mock up design earlier this year. The sedan is designed to have much more leg room than the previous model, and sitting space for 4 people. As with previous models in the series, this one is expected to have as much torque power as the past versions, possibly even more. Meaning that we’ll get to see the 306hp 3.0-litre twin turbo petrol or turbo diesel or the 408 hp 4.4-litre twin turbo V8, in action. Expected to be unveiled officially in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, mass production and purchasing will probably begin a few months after. [via WCF]

The release of the ‘unintentional’ little teaser video of the testing of the BMW 5-Series GT probably is a good sign that the folks at BMW will soon launch the luxury sedan/coupe. Sporting distinct toned down stylistic flares, normal sized wheels, beige leather interior, standard mirrors and rounded dual exhaust tips, it looks both stylish and lavish. The interiors steal the show with their cabin like setting, the sophisticated dashboard and it looks like the very best when it comes to coaxing comfort. With the recession at a probable peak, BMW might just wait a bit longer to launch the car, but when it does come out the 5-Series GT is set to sizzle the roads.
