The Fastest And Most Powerful Bentley, a Biofuel Supercar

Published by on Jan 28th, 2009, 1 Comment

The upcoming Auto Show in Geneva will be host to amazing surprises and Bentley is one of those trying to get us excited. They’ve been silently working on a luxurious Biofuel Supercar, the marque’s fastest, most powerful production car yet. Based on the 600HP Continental GT Speed, rumors have it that under the hood there’s an ethanol-guzzler version of a twin-turbo W12 engine with an increased mileage and less emissions. Visually we can’t see more changes than the pair of vents on hood, the sizable vertical intakes or the blacked out grille. Aggressive like a feline … isn’t it? [via Autoblog]

Bentley GTC Gets Speed Treatment

Published by on Jan 7th, 2009, 2 Comments

Not that the GTC convertible wouldn’t be enough for your or me, but for the rich, the new faster version of the car is pure adrenaline. Bentley GTC Speed is now able to bring it from zero to 60mph in just 4.5 seconds thanks to a twin-turbo W12 producing that outputs 600hp and 553 lb-ft. of torque, making it the fastest Bentley ever built. Featuring a dark-tinted matrix grille, chrome bezels around the headlights, a lowered ride height, low-friction dampers, stiffer rear axle bushings, wider tires an carbon-ceramic brakes, it looks like the best Bentley money can buy. Bentley Continental GTC Speed Edition

Published by on Oct 24th, 2008, No Comments

Looking at a few spyshots of the new Bentley Continental GTC Speed Edition I can’t stop saying that there aren’t many things changed between this one and the original coupe, except for the green canvas top. Some wider wheels, bigger exhaust pipes and a smaller rear spoiler are just for those who need better “looks”, while the real surprise is under the hood.

The new Bentley Continental GTC Speed Edition is actually the fastest cabriolet in the company’s 90-year history, capable of doing a 0 to 100km/h (62mph) sprint in 4.5 seconds, thanks to its 6.0-litre W12 engine that outputs 600bhp (610PS/449kW) and 750Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque, and tops at over 320km/h (199ph). I’d certainly want to know the price for such a thing, but I think a few spyshots are enough for the moment. – via WCF

800HP ASI Bentley Continental GT-based Tetsu GTR

Published by on Sep 10th, 2008, 1 Comment

Do you remember the MTM tuned Audi R8 from the other day? Well in the same category we have this new Bentley Continental GT where ASI, one of the most renowned Japanese tuners, managed to sprinkle some magic so that it can output nothing less than 800hp. There will be only 29 such models created, and one of them will be presented in Toyo Tires’ booth at SEMA (the place where the country’s top tuners gather).

With a beautiful new carbon fiber body (I simply love the paint and the color play – above pic), 22-inch wheels and a lowered suspension it looks stunning. I’d be interested to know the price, too, because it won me with the design. Here’s another version, on silver.

Tuned Bentley Continental GT

Bentley Continental GT by Japanese Tuner Premier4509

The Japanese Tuner Premier4509 managed to impress us with an extravagant Bentley Continental GT. It’s nothing mechanical, just a new handcrafted body kit that includes the front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper, new exhaust tips, front fenders and rear quarter panels. As you can probably hint from the picture, the final version is slightly wider (by 4-inch).

“The purpose of this design exercise was to enhance the cars aggressive nature while at the same time keeping a refined look that matched with the original body lines,” said Mr. Yokomaku, Premier4509′s President.

Only 100 units (serial numbered) will be available.

Autocar reports that the Bentley Arnage will be replaced with a new model for the 2010 model year. Amid speculation that the Veyron-engined Arnage built recently and described by Bentley as a “prototype” is an indication of the next-generation Arnage’s powerplant – almost 1000 hp – the word is that the 2010 Arnage will have an aluminum spaceframe chassis produced by Audi, an aluminum body, and possibly a hybrid version of the current 6.75 liter V-8 using the transmission developed for the Audi Q7 hybrid or the hybrid transmission currently under development for the next Audi Quattro.
