Resembling an open wheel racer car, the Audi City E-Tron is a two-seater, pod car with the passenger seat positioned directly behind the driver. Running on electric power the car produces no sound while driving. However, it cannot be determined if it a fully electrical vehicle or a hybrid.

The City E-Tron concept has evolved from Volkswagens’s L1 concept that was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009. Volkswagen’s idea was to build a fuel-efficient car that produces a mileage of 100 km per litre. The City E-Tron has also been inspired by a sleek version of Gordon Murray’s T.25 City car.

More details are yet to be revealed and it’s expected that the Audi will unveil the City E-Tron concept at the Frankfurt Auto Show next month.

You might already know that the A3 series was intended to recapture the glory of Audi’s A4 that was launched in 1994. The new sedan concept features the familiar Audi grille and LED lined headlamps. The engine is expected to be a 2.5-litre turbo charged five cylinder pack similar to what the RS3 Sportback had.

The A3 sedan concept reportedly produces 68 PS (50 kW/ 67 bhp) more at 408 PS (300 kW/402 hp) and boasts a seven-speed S tronic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive.

The car has the capability to accelerate from 0-100 Km/hr in just 4.5 seconds.

A closer look at the images reveals that the modifications are very minimal but evoke a strong resemblance to the automaker’s A5 and A6 editions.

It is unlikely that the A4 facelift will have any power train changes under the hood. However, it is likely that the 3.2-litre FSI will be replaced by a new supercharged 3.0-litre TFSI V6 with 272 PS (200 kW / 268 hp).

We expect the 2012 Audi A4 to be  released later this year.

The footage had similar visuals and themes to the famous ‘Imported from Detroit’ commercial run by Chrysler (posted below) at this year’s Super Bowl. Notably, it had starred Eminem and his famous tune ‘Lose Yourself’.

Eight Mile Style had called for an injunction against Audi in this regard at Germany’s Hamburg Regional Court last month. Although the case ended amicably, the complete terms of agreement have not yet been revealed.

Audi has stated that that it has “…tremendous respect for Eminem and his work, and likewise for the ‘Imported From Detroit’ campaign which was created by Chrysler and certainly, Audi would never wish to insult or harm those parties or their fans and customers.”

The prototype has a front fascia that implies a forceful impression along with the aerodynamic side skirts and modified rear bumper. As with the other Audi models, this car is also armored with a sports suspension, high-performance brakes (carbon ceramic type for this prototype) and a four-tailpipe discharge system.

The interiors seem to come with almost nil changes. Notably, it has a steering wheel and the instrument cluster that carries a S7 badging. A 4.0-liter V8 engine with approximately 440 PS (324 kW / 434 hp) will power the car.

The automaker, though, is still quiet on the performance details and specifics of the vehicle. However, it has been revealed that the car –  internally termed R17 –  will be equipping a high-strength carbon-fiber monocoque with a steel roll cage that is fully-compliant with the most recent safety regulations.

The power train will be a V8 engine adapted with slight tweaks from an A4 DTM. The engine returns approximately 460 PS (340 kW / 456 PS) of power.

Though the unmasking was of a pre-facelift replica, Audi has clarified that the final production edition will have a design based on the 2012 A5 Coupe. The car might hit the street by the end of 2011 or early 2012.

That has also made it the longest Audi, when compared with the A5 Coupé and Cabriolet measuring 4.63 meters (15.19 ft) in length. The front and rear fascia have also been made stylish with remodeled light clusters.

Under the hood, the Audi A5 sports a 3.0 TFSI, a supercharged V6 producing 200 kW (272 PS / 268 bhp). In comparison, the S5 Sportback, Coupé and Cabriolet models have the 3.0 liter TFSI with 245 kW (333 PS / 328 bhp), while the earlier S5 Coupe comes with the more fuel consuming 4.2 liter V8 unit.

The 125 kW (170 PS / 167 bhp) 1.8 liter TFSI unit comes with enhanced features to let it return a greater fuel-economy (5.7 l/100 km or 41.27mpg).

Images of the high-end offering from Audi have been shot close to the premises of the company’s Nurburgring testing facility.

It appears that the prototype is all ready to hit the markets. The car sports aggressive bumpers, revised side skirts and a four-tailpipe exhaust system. Other specifications include a stylish athletic exterior with massive alloy wheels, high-performance brakes, and sport-tuned suspension.

It’s more likely that the car will extract power from a 4.0-liter V8 with around 440 PS (324 kW / 434 hp).

At Q3′s press launch at ZurichinSwitzerland, the luxury car maker showed off the prototype quietly.

We have got hold of the video, which confirms the earlier reports about the high-end model.

Under the hood, this cross over model runs a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine – with 300 PS (221 kW / 296 hp) – that works integrated with seven-speed dual-clutch S-tronic transmission and forces a Quattro drive ( all-wheel drive).

We don’t expect Audi to officially declare release or price details soon. But we hear the Q3 RS production model could be expected by late 2012.

This crossover vehicle, the smallest of Audi’s Q series of SUVs, will utilize the VW Tiguan platform. It is likely to be offered in both two and four wheel drive variants.

Auto buffs would be excited to know about the engine variant of Q3. But they might have to wait for the Fall of 2012 to drive one.
