To debut as a fresh air breathing vehicle, the Spyder will also be endowed with a powerful outlook.

Delivering 430-horsepower (+10HP) with a maximum torque of 430Nm (317.2 lb-ft) arriving at 4,500 rpm and sustained through to 6,000 rpm, the car will combine both the standard six-speed manual transmission and the optional six-speed S tronic automated manual.

The Audi R8 Spyder is foreseen as capable of racing from0 to 62mph (100km/h) in 4.8 seconds, and attain a top speed of 186mph or 299 km/h. The car is most likely to see the first deliveries happen by January next.

Don’t just start jumping with joy, for the Audi R8 based Spyder rendering isn’t an official one but an exemplary creation from designer Jon Sibal. Audi hasn’t let a word out regarding the possibility of an R8 GT based Spyder but this creation makes us think that Audi should probably give it a shot. Automakers do not really like the idea of producing a convertible version of their most extreme sports cars and this is why we assume that the aspired Spyder my never just arrive. Even if Audi decides to give the Spyder production a nod-ahead, it will have to be a limited production model which will obviously bear a heft price-tag.

German car fans at the Dubai Motor Show were in for a special treat as PPI Automotive Design revealed their much hyped, A8 based, PPI Razor GTR at the event. The difference between the Razor introduced in Dubai and the previous variants was the scorcher adoring the Visible Carbon Fiber Widebody package with a high gloss finish. The additional gloss factor was made possible courtesy of several layers of coat over the regular carbon fiber body. The carbon fiber covers the body panel, fenders, bumpers, lids and even sideblades but spares the engine which is covered by a Polycarbonate layer. Under the hood, the PPI Razor showcased in Dubai houses the same V8 engine capable of churning 580 horses. The V10 engine which renders 600 hp was also an option on display. Both the engine options help the car clock 60mph in just 3.7 seconds.

Some crazy BMW enthusiast in frenzy bought the Audi R8 but couldn’t stand those rings on the front and decided to get rid of them. This car has been spotted in Russia and as you can see it’s an Audi R8 that wears a BMW logo. The owner stripped the supercar of all its logos and swapped them with BMW badges on the hood, engine cover and the rear end. Hell, he even got it a name — the BMW 850i. The car is not a replica by any means, but a genuine Audi R8, so someone at BMW should know that a lot of their admirers want an R8 type model and it is high time that they come up with a design matching the class of the R8. Or else the world will live by this ‘Russian example’.

It seems that Audi has finally decided to bid adieu to the trademark side blades as the R8 5.2L V10 Sypder was snapped ‘secretly’ without those blades on view. The 5.2L V10 Motor under the rear deck is capable of churning 525 HP but, this might be there only for the launch as the 4.2L V8 will hit the production floor. This Teutonic Ragtop will have performance figures similar o those of The R8 Coupe with a slightly lowered top speed which is understandable. It was being hoped that the car would be launched yesterday during Audi’s Centennial celebration but now the debut is slated for the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. [via Jalopnik]

The Frankfurt Motor Show this fall will see the debut of the  new 2011Audi R8 Spyder along with its 525 hp 5.2 liter V10 engine that gets mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox or an optional R-tronic automated transmission. The 420hp version with the 4.2-liter V8 fitted to the standard R8, is slated for a later release. Audi, we reckon, doesn’t want to hurt sales of the current A8 in China, Europe and the U.S. and/or doesn’t want a new version overlooked at such an important auto show as Frankfurt.
