Aston Martin has confirmed that they will launch the Cygnet, based on Toyota’s iQ. Te car will be Aston Martin’s response to the fuel economy and emissions standards that are being set now – and will come out in 2011. This will be an offering that will not compromise on its performance, but will satisfy the new demands of space and emissions.

Aston Martin One-77 Engine Specs Detailed

The engine specifications for the One-77, Aston Martin’s supercar, have been released. Contrary to earlier estimates, the One-77 will have a 7.3-liter V12, rated at 750 bhp (559 kW / 760 PS) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. Not a word has been officially heard on performance figures, but a pre-production prototype has earlier hit a top speed of 220 mph (355 km/h)

Lamborghini Estoque Expected to Finally Arrive; Likely to Be a Four-Door Beauty

Lamborghini’s senior executive Stephan Winkelmann has hinted at the company’s plans of adding another model to the Lamborghini line-up. Going by what he has said, a third model in the line up would fit Lamborghini very well. Though not many details have been revealed, it is expected that the new vehicle would be a four-door car.

If you have been waiting for the Aston Martin One-77 to arrive, gear up for the big event! A test car was recently spotted and speculations are that the final testing on the model is being undertaken currently so that customers could soon be able to take delivery of the car.

The Aston Martin One-77 test car has been caught on camera at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Going by what we see, the new sports car from Aston Martin is driven by a 7.3-liter V12 engine. The engine, we are told, would come with capabilities to deliver about 700 horsepower (522 kW / 710 PS). The automaker will be bringing in only 77 units of the car in the first batch.

Capable of racing from0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds, the sports car model can touch top speeds of over 200 mph. This has been proved by a prototype, which under test conditions, ran up to 220 mph or 355 km/h speeds. Are you among the first 77 to take the car out for a spin? [via WCF]

A US radio broadcaster Jerry Lee who bought an Aston Martin DB5 for $12,000 back in the day, now intends to sell the car, once driven by the famous James Bond in movies like Goldfinger (1964) and Thunderball (1965), through the RM Auctions group. And he is expecting to fetch a minimum of £3.5 million. The auction is slated for October 27, 2010. Jerry will use the proceeds of this auction for the Jerry Lee foundation which is an initiative dedicated to solving poverty related concerns. Though a 1964 model, the DB5 is still a great attraction as it features a bullet-proof windscreen, machine guns, revolving number plates, a passenger ejector seat and even an oil sprayer.

For those out of the know, the new Aston Martin One-77 is a limited edition supercar — only 77 units slated for production. As exclusive as it may sound, 10 of these scorching speedsters have been ordered by some crazy fanatic hailing from the middle-east. That is surely a whopping order as the guy is paying $17M for 10 units and the speculation is that each of these 10 cars will get a unique exterior color and cabin. The new Aston Martin One-77 features a 7.3-liter V12 engine capable of producing 700bhp, and can hit a top-speed of 355km/h.

Aston Martin raids Geneva with Special Edition Models

Aston Martin wanted to make its presence felt at the 80th Geneva Motor Show and accordingly it decided to raid the event with two special editions along with their new customization program. The first special edition model is dubbed the DBS UB-2010 and it marks the completion of 10 years for Dr. Ulrich Bez, the Aston Martin CEO.

Finished in Azurite Black paint, the DBS UB-2010 gets metallic bronze leather finishing along with Cryptic Titan trim and special sill plates marked by the Bez production. The DBS UB-2010 will be limited to 40 units, 20 of which will be Volantes while the other 20 will be Coupes. The second special edition model is the V12 Vantage Carbon Black. The limited edition model features a rare metallic paintjob which required 50-man hours of hand painting, something which is complimented with carbon fiber side strakes, and black diamond turned alloy wheels. Aston Martin is also using the Geneva event to showcase Works Service Tailored – a bespoke styling program.

In March 2010, Aston Martin is set to release two new models for their Aston Martin DBS — the new Carbon Black and the V12 Vantage Carbon Black Special Edition. They’re hand painted in a special Carbon Black metallic, feature an Obsidian Black leather and silver stitching interior, carbon fiber and Kevlar seats for a lighter build and a piano black trim. As for the V12 version they add a carbon fiber side strake, black mesh, elegant 10-spoke alloy wheels in gloss black and a 700-watt audio system. Price, you ask? About 5-percent more on the Aston Martin DBS and the special edition models are yours.
