Another model that we’re going to see in Chicago during the Auto Show is the redesigned 2009 Acura RL luxury sedan. It’s not the Acura concept we’ve told you about in January, but just as good, because this time it’s looking stunning. The shield shaped front grille really helps.
Acura RL should use a SOHC 3.7l V6 engine with VTEC variable valve timing, that is pushed by 300 hp, has a five-speed automatic transmission and features the Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive technology we’ve seen before and Acura’s new Collision Mitigating Braking System (CMBS).
Other improvements that are worth mentioning are on the inside because navigation means weather and traffic updates via XM satellite radio this time, adaptive cruise control or active front lighting.
Let’s hope we won’t see other Acura problems for the RL model that should be available this spring.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a recall has been issued by Honda for approximately 43,000 Acura RL sedan, 2005-2008 models, because of the high temperatures created by the V6 engine that affects the power steering hose and could lead to fluid leaks onto th catalytic converter. These things could cause fire and I am sure you wouldn’t want something like that to happen.
Though nothing bad happened so far, Honda is issuing a recall so you’d better go ask your local dealer if they know anything or call Honda directly before they send it to your mailbox.
