The first spy shots of the third generation BMW 6 Series coupe (F12) have surfaced on the web as the car was spied testing in the streets of Munich. Interestingly, the images reveal that the coupe version has different tail-lights than the cabriolet (F13) which was spied sometime earlier.

Though the automobile was heavily camouflaged, there are a number of elements which were still evident. For instance, the rear end has become flatter and smoother compared to the present generation 6 Series model. The side skills and the side panels have also been differently designed and the side windows look similar to those spotted on the cabriolet. The rear section of the glass will obviously be different because of the hard top compared to what you saw on the cabriolet.

This 2011 BMW 6-series is only a rendered speculation, but I’ve been told that if you want something hard enough it will happen. So let’s make it clear. WE WANT IT! Work of Romanian designer Silviu Draganescu, that’s how the new BMW 6-series should look if you were to consider that it has to be aggressive and to borrow some details from the CS Concept that we’ve been in love with for some time now. A great design exercise we wouldn’t mind if the 6-series would look like this. It has some Maserati inspiration in there … don’t you think? [via promotor]

BMW 6 series. Lovely. But the story gets even better. The Germans just announced the availability of a new Edition Sport trim level for the grand tourer, that should include new lightweight 19″ alloys, a restyled hood, stiffer anti-roll bars and the anti-roll stabilization system from the M-version. There are  two paintjobs all-new to the 6-Series which include Red Imola and Carbon Black, while the 650i gets an improved exhaust system, with better performances.

We are not certain about the prices in South Africa, but in the UK the package will cost an additional £1500-2000. Just for the record, BMW 630i Edition Sport Coupé starts at £53,445. I guess we can figure it out now. Right?
