The Fiat 500 4-door hatchback is finally a reality, and as per Autonews, this special version has been approved to arrive in Europe and the US as early as next year. The upcoming 4-door 500 will compete with the likes of the Opel Meriva and the Scion xD which are all basically categorized as small MPVs. Though Fiat hasn’t confirmed anything, we’re expecting a more powerful engine taking into consideration the extra weight courtesy of the bigger platform and the larger cargo space. One last thing. No one really has a problem with Fiat 500 expanding its lineage but they’ll better come up with a different name for the four-door hatch. [via autonews (sub req)]

No one could have imagined a Fiat 500 in a pinkish tinge but against all odds, the puny car has arrived as a limited edition model. Only 500 of these variants will be produced and as per Fiat, the car will target women drivers making them believe that it is a must have motoring fashion item. Under the hood will be a 1242cc engine that will make the car pelt from 0 to 62mph in 13 seconds and it will top it out a 99mph. On the outside, the car sports a purplish pink tinge while on the inside it adores the color black. Other attractions include a start/stop system, a leather gear knob and most notably a sunroof. Even the key cover for the car adores the color pink and what adds to the overall flavor is a special badging. The car is priced at £11,700 and it is already on sale in the UK.

Fiat is preparing the “500 Drive” event ahead of the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix qualifying sessions (the first night GP) on Saturday and will use twelve Fiat 500 F1 (all limited editions) that will be used on track by celebrities. Lately, the Italians have been marketing their new Cinquecento very aggressively so I think they really have very good results investing that much money.
With chrome trim and exclusive “F1 Limited Edition” livery all the twelve Fiat 500 will use the standard 100 bhp (74 kW) 1.4 16v engine which tops at 182 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.5 seconds.

With all the fuzz around the new Fiat 500 that I totally adore, Nokia realized it would be a good marketing move to use a 72 superminis for their ‘Nokia Connectors’ promo tour. How will they be used? Nokia intends to send 250 young people on the UK streets, in parks, on the beaches or at the parties to promote the true potential of their phones and should help the Brits to “unlock the magic in their mobiles”. Nokia is very interested in getting the whole thing rolling, particularly in relation with their new 6220 phone.
I wonder if they’re going to get a bunch of these Fiat 500 or if Apple is going to do anything about it. Maybe they can buy/rent those marvelous MINI Rickshaws and start a tour to take on Nokia?
