Lamborghini  is planning to give the world a taste of what’s to come of the impending replacement for their Gallardo model at this year’s Frankfurt Auto Show.

According to reports, the Lamborghini team will have a concept car in Frankfurt that will preview a 2015 replacement for the current Gallardo.

The word on the street is that the Italian supercar maker is still considering “Cabrera” as the Gallardo-successor’s name.

The long anticipated, new Lamborghini will be based on the same platform as the second-generation Audi R-8. This is instead of the more exotic underpinnings of the Aventador.

This means that the “Cabrera” will feature a modular spaceframe, aluminum and carbon fiber construction and a reduction in curb weight – the target is less than 3,300 pounds. Even with the loss of weight, the next Gallardo will be slightly longer than the current car, but about the same height and width.

This sleek Lamborghini will draw power from an updated version of the current 5.2-liter V10, which should be good for more than 600 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. It is also believed that the new Gallardo will feature a six-speed manual transmission as well as a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This will replace the existing six-speed E-gear automated manual on the current Gallardo.

We can’t wait to see the “Cabrera” in action!

McLaren’s super cool, hybrid hypercar, the P1 has been brought to US soil for the first time and is sitting at the McLaren Newport Beach showroom.

So if you are a sport star or Hollywood celebrity, you can now purchase the McLaren P1 for a cool $1.15 million.

McLaren completes the final leg of their sales tour for their flagship P1 hybrid hypercar in America. This wonderfully powerful and speedy hypercar was first debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 2012. It is also considered as the successor to the McLaren F1.

There is a Lamborghini Aventador that has been called the real-life Batmobile.

This car is not custom built to resemble any of the Batmobiles in the countless Batman movies. It is a real supercar, artistically enhanced to showcase some of Batman’s signature logos.

This car was first spotted at the Circuit of Americas in Austin, Texas. This stunning, pitch black Lamborghini has Batman’s signature logo on the hood and on the doors.

It recently made another appearance at the Gold Rush Rally 5, sporting new artistic modifications such as an image of the (anonymous) owner and driver’s face in a Batgirl mask.

Yes – Batgirl. Not much is known about the owner of this Lamborghini Batmobile – dubbed the ‘Batventador’ – except that it’s owner and driver is a woman!

Showing off at the Gold Rush Rally, the Batventador also showcased it’s best new feature: it now shoots flames out of its rear aftermarket exhaust!

Volkswagen are in the midst of tweaking at finishing touches for their seventh generation Golf R. Unfortunately, the cars won’t be on sale until the start of next year.

Volkswagen plans to be done with the development of the ultimate Golf, the all-wheel-drive Golf R, by that time.

As the world waits in anticipation for it’s official debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September, we have gotten our hands on some spy shots of the Golf R prototype:

One can easily see that this is indeed a prototype for the Golf R by its quad-exhaust tailpipe arrangement and 18-inch wheels that resemble the set on the current Golf R. A blacked-out grille and larger air intakes round out the list of Golf R specs.

The interior reveals an instrument cluster with two large binnacles and a metallic finish. Of course, the interior is similar across the MkVII Golf lineup, so we can already imagine what we can expect in the Golf R from the regular Golf and GTI models.

Under the skin will be Volkswagen’s MQB platform, but with a Haldex all-wheel drive system able to send 100 percent of driving force to the rear wheels when needed. That driving force will be courtesy of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

Another cool feature will be the electronic system. The system uses sensors to detect wheel slip, then brakes the slipping wheel to transfer torque the opposite site, ensuring maximum grip under all conditions.

A six-speed manual transmission should remain standard, although a dual-clutch, DSG unit may be offered this time around.

Mazda has launched a new marketing video that promotes their MX-5 Miata convertible.

In recent days, the video has gone viral and exploded all around the internet.

The premise of the video, is that Mazda’s MX-5 Miata convertible is the fastest convertible in the world – an impressive feat if you consider that the video features the MX-5 Miata competing in a drag race against world renowned, prestigious convertibles: The Lamborghini Gallardo, Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, a Ford Mustang V6 and a Porsche 911 Carrera.

There is a little twist to this tale, however – and that makes this a great marketing video.

A.Kahn Design has recently got their hands on a Jeep Wrangler Sahara and  introduced an all new, premium vehicle combining legendary, benchmark capability with rich, modern styling – all while keeping the iconic and original exterior of the Jeep Wrangler.

The eye-catching, Jeep Wrangler Sahara 2.8 Diesel 4DR – Chelsea Truck Company CJ300 in this bright white colour gives it an upscale presence without changing the form.

People instantly recognise Wrangler as the visual that defines the Jeep brand, that is why it was so important for A. Kahn Design to maintain the styling, shape and capability that exude Jeep’s heritage. The bright new interior features quilted and perforated front and rear seats in red leather with matching stitching, mud flaps (toughened rubber set of 4), vented foot pedals in machined aluminium and speedo & rev counter in facia in red completes the package.

The Porsche 911 made it’s debut 50 years ago at the 1963 Frankfurt Auto show under the 901 name. The 901 was a prototype sports car designed by the grandson of Porsche’s founder, to act as a replacement for the automaker’s 356 model.

This famous sports car was eventually renamed the 911 and went on to produce seven separate generations – all of which are still undeniably linked by design and spirit to the very first, original 901 prototype. 

In September, Porsche will mark exactly 50 years since the 901 was first unveiled and to celebrate this momentous occasion, they will launch a brand new special edition: The Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition. For a special 50 year throwback, and for the sake of nostalgia, this special anniversary edition will be launched at the Frankfurt Auto Show.

Ahead of its Frankfurt debut, we can show you the 911 50th Anniversary Edition today. this edition mimics the original 901 in that it features a rear-mounted flat-six engine and a rear-wheel-drive layout. However, this one will be limited to just 1,963 examples, a number that represents the year of the 901’s debut.

The 911 50th Anniversary Edition is based on the 2014 Porsche 911 Carrera S but it wears the wider body of the Carrera 4 model despite being a rear driver. It has a 3.8-liter flat-six engine which delivers 400 horsepower.

Unique to the 911 50th Anniversary Edition are 20-inch wheels wearing the legendary ‘Fuchs’ pattern in matte black with machine-polished centers, chrome trim strips on the front air inlets, the fins of the engine grille and the panel between the rear light and a special “911 50” 3D-effect badging on the rear lid.

Eight months ago, a client came into Studio Vilner and brought along his first generation Bentley Continental GT. Vilner’s client’s Bentley had a classic, Racing Green exterior colour and the standard production interior in a Saffron colour with brown, wooden accents.

Their client wanted to achieve a distinct individualization for his automobile: this meant that his favourite vehicle should express his own style of luxury, comfort and individuality, while still respecting the beautiful, classic design of the Continental GT.

Vilner worked in three directions: First, they set the goal to achieve a more aggressive exterior transformation resulting in something visually unique. They also equipped the Bentley with an entirely new interior. And at last but certainly not least, the power output of the car was increased.

The design of the interior and exterior of the car was done by the designers at Studio Vilner – all of which was in complete accordance with what the client wanted: a more personalized and aggressive appearance.

The exterior of this Bentley was considerably changed – an impressive 13cm was added to it’s length and 16cm to it’s rear.

An extensive use of carbon fibre elements can be seen throughout the exterior. All of the elements were totally renewed except for the line of the roof.

The idea and the design of the front carbon spoiler, rear carbon spoiler and the rear diffuser are attributed to Vilner as well. The tips of the exhaust pipes were also entirely changed.

Of course the classic, Racing Green colour of the car was also changed. This Coninental GT was re-dyed in gray graphite matt.

The interior has been modified from the standard one in Saffron colour with brown wooden accents into something exceptionally striking – it was transformed into a black colour and received some beautiful Bordeaux accents.

The stitching and the seat-belts are in Bordeaux. The dark red colour can be seen discreetly on the door pockets, armrest and gearshift lever.

The “wings” – the symbol characterizing the Bentley brand, has been embroidered in Bordeaux stitching on the seats and it also can be seen on the lateral part of the seats. The “feathers” were incorporated in all of the wooden elements in the interior as subtle yet powerful accents.

The steering wheel also got a change in form, and the new one was created in accordance with the grip of the driver.

Vilner worked on this project with the aim to bring about more power from the unit placed under the hood. The increase in horsepower was from 559 (411 kW) to 660 (485 kW), while in Newton Meters – from 650 (480 lb-ft) to 780 (575 lb-ft). This means that the maximum speed was also enhanced and now this stunning, custom Vilner Bentley Continental GT offers its driver 325 km/h instead of the standard 318 km/h.

Peugeot is planning to show off their latest concept car, the Onyx, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England this July.

The Onyx was first unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September of 2012, but it’s appearance at the Goodwood festival will be it’s very first public demonstration.

The Onyx is a diesel-hybrid car, with a carbon fibre shell and wings and doors that are made from pure copper. The copper wings and doors attribute to the futuristic look of this concept car.

The idea is that the copper is polished to a mirror finish and then left unprotected. This means that the copper will change in colour as it begins to oxidize.

It also features a 3.7 liter V8 diesel engine which will deliver 600 horsepower. It is also teamed with a electric motor which brings an extra 80 horsepower to the table. You can probably calculate the speed and power of this Peugeot!

The Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place between 11 and 14 July in West Sussex, England.

Vilner Studios has worked its skill on the interior of a Mercedes Benz SL model resulting in a car more exceptional then before.

Vilner reveals that this is one of their bravest projects having worked with five different, carefully chosen materials that come together in a seamless and cohesive design.

Vilner used Nappa leather with an antique effect, crocodile leather and brown Alcantara.

All wooden applications, some of the plastic elements and the gearshift lever have been hand-painted to provide a patinated steel appearance.

The audio system has been entirely replaced with DLS speakers and amplifiers.
