Custom Lamborghini’s rule Japan’s underworld

Japan underground

Japan’s underworld is home to many things and many, how should I say, eccentric people. Whether it’s social billionaires, thrill-seeking daredevils or, in this case, flashy yakuza’s (yakuza being an organized crime syndicate).

This gang, operating in Tokyo’s underworld has always had a penchant for fast cars or bikes. However, recently, it seems that the yakuza are having some sort of internal competition as to see who has the most blinged-out car. There preferred mode of transport? Lamborghini’s of course.

The gang was originally some sort of motorcycle gang, but quickly transitioned into more flashy (and more expensive) automobiles. Going from a daring motorcycle club to Lambo-racing criminals will obviously come with new threats and in this case, super flashy style. (more…)

Tony Hawk jumps over moving Mini

Tony Hawk Mini

Ever wondered what would happen if you give one of the world’s best skateboarders the opportunity to do a trick over a moving car? Well, this.

Superstar skateboarder, Tony Hawk, recently pushed the limits once again when he literally performed an olley (to us non skateboarders, a pretty high jump) over a moving Mini Cooper S. And the result was something pretty spectacular.

Mr. hawk is not new to jumping over cars, either. A couple of years ago he attempted the same feat, by jumping over a Lexus LS. However, the Lexus was not moving – in fact, the car wasn’t even on – and it was parked sideways, which means he only had to jump over the width of the car and not the length. (more…)

big muscle

The Drive channel on YouTube always brings us the very best in automotive entertainment. They are responsible for great shows such as after Drive, Chris Harris (our favorite car guy) On Cars and Big Muscle – a show about, well, you know, big muscle cars.

Thanks to it’s immense popularity, Big Muscle has been running for four seasons, and you can just imagine how many great, big cars have been featured on the show.

We’re talking Corvettes, twin engine cars and fire creating monsters. Very exciting, even if you prefer more polished vehicles like sports cars. (more…)

Lewis Hamilton vs Ken Block at Top Gear Festival

Hamilton Block

The Top Gear Live Festival hit Barbados last weekend, and with it, they brought two of the racing world’s most famous racers – and they’re not even in the same category.

Ever wondered how a F1 race car will perform against a rally car? Well, this is exactly what the Top Gear festival – hosted by the equally entertaining Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond – brought to the fans in Barbados this past weekend. The team brought along American professional rally driver, Ken Block as well as British F1 sensation, Lewis Hamilton, to take a trip around the track.

Block has been a rally champion several times. He is also an all-round extreme sports fanatic, so naturally he was super keen to take on the F1. On the other hand – or wheel – is Hamilton, who really needs no introduction. (more…)

bikes

Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to drive really really fast on a motorcycle? Sure you have.

While many of us wondered what it would feel like, not everyone will actually muster up the courage to actually do it. Especially not if said motorcycle is going at an astonishing 275 kilometers an hour!

One fearless daredevil did exactly that, blitzing through Hong Kong on a motorcycle going 275km/h. And, in the process, decided to film it in order to give people like us the opportunity to experience driving that fast from his point of view; you know, so it actually feels like you are holding on for dear life at the back. R8

Have you ever wondered what it takes to build one of the world’s most sought after sportscars, the Audi R8? Well, perhaps you haven’t and all you really want is to own one – nevertheless, it would still be interesting to see how one is assembled, am I right?

The Drive channel on YouTube’s segment, Inside Quattro, takes you inside the famous Quattro GmbH where the R8 is assembled. This time around, they’re taking a look at the R8 V10 Plus, and what it takes to put one together. Just so you know, too.

The video is actually pretty interesting and will be well worth the watch for both all-round petrol heads as well as Audi fans.

Ford Mustang sent to space in celebration of 50th Anniversary

MUSTANG IN SPACE

Well this is one way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the famous Ford Mustang – and it’s pretty out of this world (pun intended).

A group of friends – and undoubtedly heavy Ford enthusiasts – decided to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang in a very unusual way. The group, from the Big Valley Ford Dealership in California decided that they would like to commemorate the momentous occasion by sending a 2015 Ford Mustang into space.

Ok, to be fair, it’s not a life-size 2015 ford Mustang, but rather a small replica of the famous car. However, small or not, the experiment delivered some amazing footage. (more…)

Chris Harris and the all new BMW i8

bmwi8

Dubbed the ‘sports car of the future’, the BMW i8 has been making a lot of waves lately since it was officially unveiled at the New York Auto Show a while back. So, naturally, the ‘man about cars’, Mr. Chris Harris himself, had to test drive the i8 and see what all the fuss is about.

Chris, who obviously lives in the UK, had specially flown to Los Angeles to take the i8 for a spin. While, admittedly he was quite annoyed with the traveling, his review of the i8 was rather good. (more…)
