Chris Harris is back and we for one are really excited to see him testing and pitting cars against each other again.
This time around Chris takes on more of a ‘normal’ car. And when we say normal, we mean non-supercar. While we love watching Lamborghinis and Ferraris in action (although we get insanely jealous) it’s also great to see Chris review everyday cars.
With his unique reviewing style, Chris pits the Volkswagen Golf R against the BMW M235i.
Which car do you think will come out on top? Check out the video below:
Pitting two performance cars together is always fun. And while it might sound like an odd match-up between the Audi S3 Saloon and the Subaru WRX STi, these two cars have more in common than you might think and thus makes it the perfect battle.
RIght off the back, we won’t judge you if you believe the Audi will fair better in this competition. After all, the Audi is more expensive at 33,245 pounds and has the more swanky, luxury interior. Also, Audi has somewhat of a reputation as an upmarket performance car, so naturally many us will feel that the Audi has a step up on the Subaru. (more…)
Lamborghini is still 10 days away from fully unveiling their ‘track-focused’ Huracan Super Trofeo race car, but they know that fans (like us) are frothing to get a glimpse of the modified Huracan that is set to take the track by storm.
So, to satisfy our hunger for the super fast super car, they have released a short teaser, just over 1 minute long, that shows us the Huracan Super Trofeo (LP 610-4) in some of it’s glory. And while it’s not all of it, it will definitely satisfy our craving until August 15th when the car will be officially unveiled at The Quail in Monterey, California. (more…)
One thing that has always fascinated petrol heads (or actually most people in general) is the concept of a ‘hoverboard’ or ‘hover car’. The idea of literally hovering above the ground as a mode of transport is an exciting prospect and one that we have only seen in sci-fi films. Until now that is.
Chris Malloy, an Australian designer based in London, has come up with something called a ‘hoverbike’ – and while it’s not a hovering skateboard or a hovering car, it’s pretty much as close as we’ll get to any ‘hovering’ mode of transport.
The Hoverbike concept is kind of like a cross between a motorbike, a four-wheeler and a drone quad-copter. And it really does look as though it just came off the set of the latest Star Wars film.
The Hoverbike uses spinning rotors on both the front and back side of the machine. These create enough energy for the Hoverbike to actually lift off the ground. (more…)
It might not be the fastest car in the world anymore, after the Hennessey trumped it from the number one spot, but let’s be honest; it is still super exciting to see a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport race down a straight stretch of road, even if it now holds second place.
At the recent Sun Valley Road Rally in Ketchum, Idaho, one of Bugatti’s rarest beauties got to show off it’s skills and power and in the process blow the socks off of everyone attending the event as well as ourselves, because luckily, someone realized that this is moment not to be missed and pulled out the video camera.
The Sun Valley Road Rally effectively turns a stretch of Highway 75, surrounded by trees and beautiful, picturesque mountains, into a high-speed runway where super cars get to show off just h0w ‘super’ they are.
During the event, the road is not open to the public for use (obviously, they risk a collision with a super fast super car) but the event is open to the public to come and watch, with all proceeds being donated to charity. (more…)
Most of us will know that tech giants Apple and Google have been going head-to-head with each other for years now. Whether it’s competing smartphones, tablets or almost any other piece of technology, the competition almost always boils down to Apple vs Google.
And now the two companies are competing for a place in your car.
We have already reported on the two companies’ plans for a ‘smart car’. A system that allows your smartphone to seamlessly integrate into your car, offering you the advantages of your smartphone, in your car, while you are on the go.
Apple first announced CarPlay, their answer to a smart integration system that connects to your car’s infotainment system. And, of course, a few months later, Google showed of it’s new pony in the form of Android Auto - and Android based ‘smart car’ system. (more…)
Even of Team Sky does not win this year’s Tour de France, they will still have something to brag about – one kick ass support vehicle in the form of a special edition Jaguar F-Type.
The once-off F-Type coupe has been specially designed for Team Sky and will act as the team’s official support vehicle during the penultimate stage of the grueling Tour de France cycling race.
The car was designed and built by Jaguar Land Rover’s all new Special Vehicle Operations division, and will without a doubt blow the socks (wheels?) off any other support vehicle in the race.
The car, which is based on the F-Type R Coupe, produces a powerful 542 horsepower from a 5.0 liter, supercharged, V8 engine. (more…)
This is one showdown we’re very excited to watch. Two of the world’s best performance cars go head to head in battle in this video by UK-based car news sure, Auto Express.
In one corner, we have the all new, much anticipated BMW M4.
As the name suggests, the M4 is the new version of the ever-popular, M3. For any performance car loving fan, the M3 has always been one of the best, and, considering that things only tend to get better, the M4 looks set to be just as (or even more) impressive.
The M4 produces 425bhp from a twin turbo engine and, according to the drivers in the video, its has a raw, edgy feeling to it that makes it just that much dinner to drive – especially at high speeds. (more…)
