The Zoopedup.com car club held their annual dyno day this past weekend at Dynotech tuning centre, Brackenfell. The meet up was a huge success with hundreds of car racers and stylists showing their support and getting their cars on the dyno. Proceedings started early in the morning when the Zoopedup car club convoy arrived from their N1 City convoy spot.  One of the featured cars first on the rollers was a 6L V8 Lumina SS supercharged with gas pushing 400KWs and a wopping 915 Nm of torque. The car used extra straps to secure it on the dyno as the power was too much.

Shane's Zoopedup Pug

When it comes to modifying cars, it can be said that the Peugeot is not the easiest but it sure is one of the sexiest. Shane became a Pug fan having loved the 206 from the World Rally Championships.

With his new found passion for Peugeot Shane did what any Zoopedup man does, modify. First he slapped on 17″ Racing Hart Concepts mags to give the car more street cred. Exterior extras also included a mesh grill up front and a Power Flow Tailpipe. Since red was the in thing for his PUG he also installed under car neons (in red) and had the whole interior done in red suede to complement his new sound installation. Which consisted of one 12 Kenwood 1500w DVC sub connected to a 1100W Monoblock also from the Kenwood stable. To head up the install he selected a JVC front loader connected with 200W Kenwood splits to sort out the high ranges.

Raven's Zoopedup Corsa

Veedubz and Opels have always been the popular car of choice amongst local modifiers. They are relatively inexpensive and aftermarket parts are available freely, In fact theres to many to choose from. The end result is your cabbie looking like every second Joe on the street. Every now and then you see a car unique styled and in this case, Michael, the owner of a grenada red 1400 corsa, did just that. I first spotted the car at a team Zoopedup.com meeting end last year.

Zoopedup's Ingrid and her 16v Clio

Published by on Feb 20th, 2007, 24 Comments

Team Zoopedup.com is one of the biggest modified car clubs in South Africa, the club’s members come from all races and places creating quite a mix of auto enthusiats at their events and gatherings. One of the reasons the Zoopedup car club has become famous in motorsport circles around the country is that it’s not only guys modifying their cars but girls to!! Ingrid Starke is one such example. Terrorizing the guys on the tarmac at Killarney drag nights or drifting red m3’s around the skidpan, this is all in a days work for Zoopedup’s Ingrid. Her pride and joy is a 1.6L 16V Renault Clio modified in all departments! The car sports a full body kit, neat sound install and a custom interior but we will get more into that a little later on. The reno is her second project car after having dabbled with Volkswagen for starters and then later moving onto the Clio.
