Formula One Heading for Cape Town; On Track in 2 Years

In a few days from now, we might get to see Formula One monsters gearing up for a Cape Town jaunt. In what could be a landmark in the F1 horizon, an agreement that will bring the exciting sporting event will be inked. We hear negotiations are in the final stages. And, when that happens,Cape Town will play host to a Grand Prix event in just about two years time.

Breaking News: Ecclestone Tells Local News Team Formula 1 Street Race Will Be Held In Cape Town In Two Years

Eyewitness News has revealed that F1 Boss Bernie Ecclestone has told them that Cape Town will host a Formula One street race in the next two years.

In February this year, the Cape Times reported that a local consortium had been invited to picth a racetrack to the FIA that was centred around the Waterfront, Greenpoint and even running through the Greenpoint stadium.

The proposal is apparently weeks away from being signed: ”I’m hoping we can make a decision as soon as our lawyers have a good look at them… within the next couple of weeks,” Ecclestone has been reported as saying.

Hello Turkey, Goodbye Turkey: Full Grand Prix Report

After the almost narcotic high of Shanghai, the Turkish Grand Prix would have had to be absolutely sensational to even compare. While it was without the drama of China, this weekend’s race was certainly entertaining.

Famous for “Turn 8” – a high speed, triple-apex flat-out left hander, in which the drivers have to endure nearly 5Gs of lateral force, the Turkish Grand Prix is one of the most exciting layouts on the modern calendar. It’s a pity the Turkish people don’t think so however, a drastic fall in attendance means the event will probably be pulled from the line up next year. So this might have been the last Formula One GP at the venue for a few years to come.

HRT F111 Car Unveiled Ahead of F1 Season

HRT (Hispania Racing Team) is all geared up for this year’s F1 calendar after the unveiling the F111 Formula One car. HRT is the only team left to confirm its second driver after Narain Karthikeyan.

Renault Engine Formula to take Competition Head On

Renault has reaffirmed that its engine formula for 2013 will even out the playing field in the auto industry. This was following suggestions that its existing 2.4 liter unit was not in the same league as that of Mercedes and Ferrari.

Spy Pictures of the Three-Seater Ferrari Marlboro Red Rush Out in the Open

If you see it from a distance, it is similar to the Ferrari that won Schumacher his world titles. But when it races to your side in a matter of seconds, you realize the difference. It’s the Prancing Horse’s three-seater dubbed “Marlboro Red Rush”, which was seen doing laps at Fiorano.

Rumors about the Ferrari F1 three-seater have been circulating for a while now. Some spy photos taken at the Fiorano Circuit, in Italy, has revealed the Marlboro Red Rush cruising in the rain. Two passengers can accommodate themselves in the seats placed behind the driver’s seat. The car, capable of sprinting to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds, can reach 300 km/h (186 mph) in a mere 13 seconds. The car which is based on a Formula One F2002 653 chassis has an 800 PS (789 bhp / 588 kW) engine that operates at 17,000 rpm. It carries 50 liters of fuel, and weighs a total of 845 kilograms. The 5-meters long, 1.8 meters wide car has a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph).
