ZoopedUp Breakfast Run

ZoopedUp Represent - Pic taken by Seagyn Davis

All I can say is GREAT! Was a awesome day with a pretty good turn out for GP. Lots of new faces but not forgetting the good old faithfuls that will stick with ZoopedUp to the end.

The run was nice, about 30 cars cruised on the highway to Harties. It all started with Branden and Rhiaan in their turbo’d cars who flew ahead and left most of us in the dust. We were entertained with some sideways movement around ALL of the corners by a certain person driving a silver car.

Hot Rod with a flame paintjob
On the 6th of August 2006 the Gauteng leg of Cars in the Park was held at Zwartkops Racetrack, a few kilometers out of PTA. For those of you who dont know what Cars in the Park is, it is a show of the true beauty of old skool rides. From cadillac’s to ss camaro’s, mustang GT’s and Cobra’s, they were all there showing off and reminding us of their glory days when petrol was cheap and everyone rolled with 6.6 litre v8’s under their bonnets. Enzo Turns in His Grave. Again.

Published by on Aug 3rd, 2006, No Comments

A dude touring in his Ferrari Enzo ($1.3m) as part of the four-day Utah Fast Pass Road Rally (which involves the Utah Highway Patrol shutting down portions of roads so participants can “open up” their cars) was injured Wednesday morning when he crashed about 27 miles north of Milford.

Richard Losee was one of 30 drivers of exotic sport cars who paid $5,000 a piece to participate in the rally and was on a stretch of State Route 257 when he lost control of his car. He was flown to Utah Valley Medical Center in Provo after the accident and admitted with fractured bones.

The Utah Fast Pass Road Rally raises funds to help families of UHP troopers killed or injured in the line of duty. The UHP clocked the drivers’ speeds and gave them “speeding tickets” from which the cash goes to charity.

This is the second Enzo Ferrari to be torn to pieces during a crash in the last 12 months. After veering off the road, the car lost its transmission and V-12 engine and came to rest off the other side of the road.

Note that the Italian sports car (for safety reasons) is designed to come apart in a high-speed crash – leaving the chassis, passenger compartment and passanger in tact.

Canary Wharf Motor Show – London 2006

Published by on Jul 28th, 2006, No Comments

I recently travelled on the Docklands Light Rail to one of the biggest manufacturer motor shows in London recently. After a 30 minute trip I arrive at the Canary Wharf DLR Station and walk out to see standing before me, the new sexy Golf V R32. What an awesome start to a long day of sexy cars and new innovations in the motor industry! There were a few new Vw’s including this new one with some strange name to suit its strange look. The car didn’t interest me that much so I won’t go on about it… carry on reading
