Whenever we hear the words Rolls Royce and spy shot in the same sentence, get excited. And if said spy shots happen to be of the long overdue, heavily anticipated new Phantom, all the better.
Motor Authority has gotten their hands on some pretty special spy shots of the 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom – and by the looks of things, the new model will be very bit as perfect as the current model.
One has to keep in mind that the current Phantom model has been on the market since 2004 – that’s 10 years ago. So when we say the Phantom is long overdue for an upgrade, we mean (really) long overdue. Not that there is anything wrong with the current model (it still makes our heart skip a beat) but a lot has happened in the past 10 years, especially technology wise.
This test model was spotted outside a BMW test centre in Germany, and, as we can gather, Rolls Royce has started with their first public road tests with the new Phantom. (more…)
Over the past couple of months, we have been carefully keeping an eye on any developments involving the new. 2016 Mazda MX-5. And while there has been countless artists impressions and speculative renderings, today the company released the first official teaser image.
Ok, so right of the bat, you can’t really see anything. The entire car is covered under a massive cloth, so no details emerging just yet.
However, what we can see (sort of) is the shape of the much anticipated car. Mazda is adamant that the 2016 MX-5 will look nothing like the current model, so we are very keen to see what lies beneath the cloth. (more…)
When you think of a motor home, you can’t help but picture a 80′s style karavaan slowly making its way down to the seaside from up North. However, this motor home (or RV is you will) is nothing like the caravans you see in Hartenbos over December. It’s actually like a moving mansion.
The element Palazzo is the world’s most expensive and most luxurious motor home and has (surprisingly) just been sold to an unmanned owner in the city of lux – Dubai.
This seriously pimped out RV was sold for a whopping $3 million. But once you see what this RV holds both inside and outside you can still try and make sense of the exuberant price tag.
Developed by Marchi Mobile – an Austrian company founded by former trucking mogul Mario Marchi – this RV is the stuff dreams are made of. That is if you dream of luxury motor homes covered in actual gold. (more…)
We know that when Bugatti does something, the do it right. And that is exactly the case when it comes to the much anticipated successor to the enigmatic Veyron.
There is no official confirmed date yet for the (yet to be named) Veyron successor, but reports are stating that we can expect to witness the magic in 2016. The automaker has not released a lot of information about the car, but slowly there are trickling more more and more details – and this latest bout of details has got us properly frothing.
According to a report by Autocar, the Veyron’s successor will house the same – albeit updated – engine as the Veyron. and to refresh your memory, that is a 8.0 liter, W16 engine. Some sources also claim that the Veyron’s successor will incorpated hybrid technology, something the existing Veyron lacks, of course. (more…)
It seems that breaking the land speed record isn’t enough for Hennessey and their Venom GT. In fact, the car company has just announced plans for a updated, faster version of the Venom GT.
Talking to Top Gear, Hennessey confirmed the company’s plans to build a Venom GT that would make the existing GT look like small fry. And the name? They plan on calling this beast of a super car the Venom GT F5. We’re thinking the F stands for fast.
The main goal with the Venom GT F5 is to top the top speed of the Venom GT. Hennessey said that they would like to reach a top speed of a whopping 290mph (that’s 466,17 km/h to you and me). To refresh your memory, the top speed that the existing Venom GT reached was 270,4mph (or 435,16) – and with it, they took the land speed record.
Before Hennessey stepped onto the playground, the previous land speed record was held by Bugatti with their Veyron at 269,86mph (434,29km/h). (more…)
Lamborghini is still 10 days away from fully unveiling their ‘track-focused’ Huracan Super Trofeo race car, but they know that fans (like us) are frothing to get a glimpse of the modified Huracan that is set to take the track by storm.
So, to satisfy our hunger for the super fast super car, they have released a short teaser, just over 1 minute long, that shows us the Huracan Super Trofeo (LP 610-4) in some of it’s glory. And while it’s not all of it, it will definitely satisfy our craving until August 15th when the car will be officially unveiled at The Quail in Monterey, California. (more…)
It’s still just over a month before the all new, 2016 Jaguar XE will be officially unveiled, but the company has decided to let us have a sneak peek at their latest creation.
The Jaguar XE is the latest to come from Jaguar Land Rover and, as expected, it’s absolutely beautiful.
The XE is set to follow in the footsteps of other Jaguars – the XF and the XJ. But besides taking over centre stage, the XE was designed to compete with some stiff competition in the luxury market. The XE looks set to take on the Audi A4, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the BMW 3-Series.
And if this one photo is anything to go by, then we would advice those other car companies to sit up and take note. (more…)
One thing that has always fascinated petrol heads (or actually most people in general) is the concept of a ‘hoverboard’ or ‘hover car’. The idea of literally hovering above the ground as a mode of transport is an exciting prospect and one that we have only seen in sci-fi films. Until now that is.
Chris Malloy, an Australian designer based in London, has come up with something called a ‘hoverbike’ – and while it’s not a hovering skateboard or a hovering car, it’s pretty much as close as we’ll get to any ‘hovering’ mode of transport.
The Hoverbike concept is kind of like a cross between a motorbike, a four-wheeler and a drone quad-copter. And it really does look as though it just came off the set of the latest Star Wars film.
The Hoverbike uses spinning rotors on both the front and back side of the machine. These create enough energy for the Hoverbike to actually lift off the ground. (more…)
