General Motors has put aside their plans to introduce a premium plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) based on their Cadillac luxury brand. It was earlier believed that GM was in the works with a PHEV, based on the Cadillac SRX platform and making use of the Chevy Volt Technology..
Volkswagen, which is already expanding production to beyond the Passat, Jetta and Beetle models, will build their upcoming Tiguan model in Mexico. To be built either at the Chattanooga plant or the Pueblo plant in the Latin American nation, VW will be looking at increasing production units and sales of the Tiguan model. Tesla has announced plans to stop the production of their Roadster model by the end of 2011. The details were secured from a filing of motor maker with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
