Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled their 2012 SLK roadster. The car comes with Mercedes-Benz’s 3.5 liter V6 featuring 302 bhp (225 kW / 306 PS). It enables acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) within sprint time of 5.4 seconds. The top speed of the vehicle is 155 mph (250 km/h).

Wikispeed has just unveiled their new SGT01. The automotive startup is looking for backers to get the car into mass production. SGT01 is a 1,300 lb (590 kg) vehicle envisioned as a futuristic four-seater. The current prototype looks more like an aerodynamic sports racer.

Li-Ion Motors has announced the production of its all-electric models, the INIZIO supercar and the WAVE II at the Detroit auto show. The carmaker is now taking orders on these two new models.

Mercedes will be putting the SLS AMG E-Cell into production in short time as they have confirmed their official plans. The proposed model is said to be very similar to the leaked, teased and test-driven prototype. The prototype model was driven by David Coulthard.

BMW has yet again topped the list of premium brand sales for 2010. They have proved to top the list by pushing their main rivals, Mercedes-Benz and Audi, into the second and third position.

G-Power has brought on the new Hurricane GS, based on the BMW M5 (E60). They claim this model to be the fastest LPG-powered vehicle on the planet. The Hurricane GS has clinched the fastest LPG car title from the AC Schnitzer GP3.10 gas powered BMW 3-Series Coupe (E92) which hit a top speed of 318.1 km/h.

Audi has unveiled the 2012 Audi A6, a sedan version of the A7 Sportback, at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The car’s interior offers extra room as the wheelbase has been stretched to measure 2910mm long. The highly stylized cockpit features 1,300-watt Bang & Olufsen audio system and MMI navigation plus with internet connectivity.

Jeep has officially unveiled the 2011 Compass at the Detroit Auto Show. This face-lifted version of the original Jeep Compass is available with a Freedom Drive II package which adds low-range gearing, an increased ride height, and Trail Rated badging.
