Swedish manufacturer Saab has hinted coming back into the World Rally Championships. The last year in which Saab had participated in the championships was in the year 1979. Reports suggest that Saab is looking for a possible return to the series in 2012. The news comes after a comeback announcement by MINI.

Volkswagen Drives in the 100,000th Scirocco III

Engineers at the Volkswagen Autoeuropa plant in Portugal were in a festive mood, when the 100,000th Scirocco III was rolled off the assembly line. The model, a Scirocco R 2.0 TSI, is a third generation model of the Scirocco hatchback which was launched by Volkswagen in the year1974. Since the day it was launched, Scirocco was one of the hottest cars in the market all thanks to its fabulous looks.

Spy Pictures of the Three-Seater Ferrari Marlboro Red Rush Out in the Open

If you see it from a distance, it is similar to the Ferrari that won Schumacher his world titles. But when it races to your side in a matter of seconds, you realize the difference. It’s the Prancing Horse’s three-seater dubbed “Marlboro Red Rush”, which was seen doing laps at Fiorano.

Rumors about the Ferrari F1 three-seater have been circulating for a while now. Some spy photos taken at the Fiorano Circuit, in Italy, has revealed the Marlboro Red Rush cruising in the rain. Two passengers can accommodate themselves in the seats placed behind the driver’s seat. The car, capable of sprinting to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds, can reach 300 km/h (186 mph) in a mere 13 seconds. The car which is based on a Formula One F2002 653 chassis has an 800 PS (789 bhp / 588 kW) engine that operates at 17,000 rpm. It carries 50 liters of fuel, and weighs a total of 845 kilograms. The 5-meters long, 1.8 meters wide car has a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph).

Lexus Nod For LFA Purchase in the US; But Wants Right To Repurchase if Owner Wants to Sell It

Lexus has allowed purchase of its LFA supercar in the US. However, the green signal comes with a clause. The buyer will have to sign a contract which lets Lexus the right to re-purchase the car if the owner sells it during the first two years of its purchase.

Lamborghini Estoque Expected to Finally Arrive; Likely to Be a Four-Door Beauty

Lamborghini’s senior executive Stephan Winkelmann has hinted at the company’s plans of adding another model to the Lamborghini line-up. Going by what he has said, a third model in the line up would fit Lamborghini very well. Though not many details have been revealed, it is expected that the new vehicle would be a four-door car.

Range Rover Plans Addition in Family; New Model to be Positioned between Evoque and Range Rover Sport

Range Rover is planning to add another model into its family of beauties. This new model will be slotted in between the new Evoque and the Range Rover Sport. This model which will share components with forthcoming Land Rover models, will cost more than the £35k Evoque, but less than the £46k Sport. Encouraged by the reception to the Evoque, the bosses in the company believe that a new model is sure to be a success.

Spark in Wood; Set To Kindle Auto Buffs' Interests

A wood paneled car has been announced by Chevrolet Europe. The news is that the car is part of Chevrolet’s campaign to make artistic contributions to the Spark model. Called the Art Sparks project, the campaign has the Spark Woody in the works. The model of the car was shown at the Newquay in Cornwall for the Boardmasters surf, skate and music festival.

More Pictures of One-off Lancia Stratos Surface

Pictures of a new version of the Lancia Stratos were spied from a car buff, who was able to sneak a few shots when the car was being test-driven on an Alfa Romeo test track. A couple of new photos of the same car have emerged, and also news of it being a single piece recreation of the Stratos – brought forth by a joint project by Pininfarina and Fenomenon Holistic Design.
