MTM distributor Horchaus has confirmed confirms that it has not received the necessary clearances required to import Audi RS models into North America. The company says that they were not able to work through all the regulatory commissions to have the cars meet all North American regulations. They cited the lack of appropriate collaborators as one of the reasons why this could not happen.

This statement is sure to raise a few brows since Horchaus had previously reported that they had entered into a deal with Audi to modify cars so that they would be considered street legal in the United States and Canada.
Horchaus had planned to import models like the RS6, RS6 Avant, and B7 RS4 Avant. There has been, however, a confirmation from Audi that the RS5 will be available in the US in 2012.
