The third generation Elgrand for the Japanese market has been announced by Nissan, which calls the vehicle the ‘King of Minivans.’ The model will be out in Japan later this month. The vehicle is due to be out in the US market in early 2011, and will be known there as the Nissan Quest. In the US it will be on the same platform as the Elgrand, with certain stylistic differences.

The top end version of the Elgrand’s will be an all-wheel drive fitted with a 3.5 liter petrol/gasoline engine with 280 PS (206 kW) and 344 Nm of torque. The 3.5 liter will also be available as a 2WD and a 2.5 liter with 170 PS (125kW) and 245 Nm of torque.
On both versions, the engines will be coupled to the Xtronic CVT-M6 transmission. Optimized fuel economy is ensured with the Adaptive Shift Control system, which keeps the CVT gearbox running smoothly.
With up to an 8-seat capacity, and packed with goodies like the Quick Comfort Seat Heater, Around View Monitor, Wide View Monitor, a Parking Guide assistant and an Eco-Drive Assist System, this is one vehicle that will offer luxury for group travel.
