We are so accustomed to talk about Land Rovers as typical all-wheel driven commuters that a Land Rover running on a front-wheel drivetrain sounds like a real novelty. It has never happened before for the brand but under the new owner, we will soon see an LRX Compact SUV coupe which is slated to debut at the Paris Motor Show in September.

Hitting the production floor early next year, Land Rover will first unveil an AWD version of the LRX while the novelty (FWD) shall hit markets sometime later. Land Rover is keen to reduce fleet CO2 emissions and the front-wheel driven LRX will look to do that for the brand. As far as the AWD version is concerned, it will get a 185 bhp rendering 2.2 liter diesel engine which will be mated to a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission.

This has to be one of the most inexpensive packages for a premium brand endorsed commuter we so dearly call the MINI Countryman. The Getaway package costs a modest €89 and it includes two folding seats and a wooden board which can turn one of the seats into a table. An additional €35 will fetch all you Countryman owners another board just in case you do not like eating alone even in your commuter. Other than the extra table there are other additional accessories like the boots for €39, a parka for €139, a t-shirt for €29 and a five-in-one cover for €65. I do not quite understand the idea behind a package such as this but I am still sure the MINI Countryman fanatics will find it interesting.

The Lexus LFA will already be a limited edition vehicle with 500 units slated for sales around the globe. The exclusive edition will be all the more special as Lexus has also decided to offer 50 units out of this package which will be dubbed the LFA Nürburgring edition. The special edition packaged will cost an extra $70,000 above the US$375,000 price tag which the standard edition of the limited production model shall cost. Shelling another $20,000 will also fetch the customers a matt black exterior paint job, making their commuter look all the more rare. The commuter will be powered by a 4.8L V10 engine which is upped by an extra 10 horses for these 50 LFA edition models only.

Toyota might be the highest automobile manufacturing brand in the world but even then it needs to fill the void in the compact roadster segment. Instead of raising or developing a new platform altogether, Toyota is thinking on the lines of manufacturing a less-expensive version of the FT-86 sports car. The touted model will be a rear-wheel driven commuter with a front-mounted engine. It will be powered by Toyota’s very own 3SZ-VE engine which is a 1.5 liter 4-banger with 109 bhp power output. The current FT-86 sports car which has been developed together by Subaru and Toyota is expected to go on sale soon.
Michael Schumacher is finally finding some form and Barcelona of all places was the one where he managed to one up his own team-mate Nico Rosberg and also impressed his harshest critics. Experts had already written him off before the Spain edition of the Grand Prix but Schumi for once looked a champion that clinched the F1 Title seven times.

It was Italy’s Corriere dello Sport which vehemently mentioned Schumacher is once again a great man. There he is again! La Gazzetta dello Sport which was typically critical of Schumacher’s decision to return t F1 and his sad performances also appreciated Schumi’s effort in Spain dubbing the Barcelona Race as his real start at the event.
Fanatics believe that Michael will keep getting better from here and even his team has now started understanding the kind of cars he requires.

Tuning in Japan is an art, and proof to back my sayings is the new Lexus LX570. But not just any LX570, but the one that the folks from ASI got their hands on. Saying that the luxury SUV can actually perform much more aggressively, ASI took the factory 5.7-litre V8 motor (381hp) and the 6-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission to new heights — dubbed it the ASI Lexus LX570 Invader and promised at least 600hp, and a 5 seconds time to reach 100km/h from standing still. That’s pretty impressive, but in honesty, it sounds like an expensive hack for your Lexus LX570. You game?

Although I’m not a big Renault fan, I must admit that the new Megane Coupe-Cabriolet cruiser has what it takes to cause some serious head turns when passing by. The Renault Megane Coupe-Cabriolet, comes with a folding roof made of glazed glass and has 6 motor options: 3 diesel and 3 on gas. Choices includes a 1.4 liter turbocharged TCe 130 engine (with 130hp), naturally aspirated 1.6 liter and 2.0 liter power plants outputting 110 hp and 140 hp respectively, or dCi 110 FAP, dCi 130 FAP and the dCi 160 FAP. On top of that, the Coupe-Cabriolet will come with either a 6-speed manual, a CVT or a 6-speed dual clutch EDC gearbox.
