While a few put their money on the returning veteran Schumacher in Bahrain and a few others though it would be Red Bull to take home the laurels, it was Fernando Alonso from Ferrari who eventually managed to win the season opener in Bahrain.

Red Bull did run the show initially but it was an exhaust problem which pegged back the Red Bull driver’s advance on the F1 circuit. Sebastian Vettel was the pole sitter for the race but with reduced power he managed to finish fourth. The German driver considered himself lucky to finish the race but he thought he should have won it. For Massa, it was an emotional comeback after a career treating injury marred his prospects in the last edition of the F1 racing. Meanwhile, Rosberg managed to defeat Schumacher and finish fifth, just one place ahead of the seven time world champion.

The exact details of the range expansion is not yet public but what we do know is that the lineage will be equipped with an internal combustion engine, a 6.0-liter W-12 beast in this case. Bentley aims to reduce CO2 fleet emissions by 15% by 2012 and introducing Flex-Fuel technology laden engines is a quick solution, just that there aren’t enough E85 stations around and Bentley should have considered the drawback.

North American customers will get lucky this April as the 2010 Infiniti G37 Anniversary Edition will hit the American shores in convertible, coupe, and sedan variants. All forms o the Infiniti G37 will come in limited numbers where the coupe and convertibles will be limited to 200 units.

As far as the sedans go, 350 units will be sold few of which will also please the rear wheel enthusiasts. Under the hood will be a 3.7-liter V6 engine which will be clubbed with a seven speed automatic-transmission. All versions will embrace a Graphite Shadow pigment paint job and will feature aluminum alloy wheels. On the inside, the Infiniti G37 Sedan is done in Monaco red leather while the coupe and convertible get a Maple interior.

The G37 Sedan will bear a price tag of $43,350; the coupe gets priced for $50,550 while the convertible is the most expensive of the lot at $54,900.

It was on a California freeway that a man managed to escape any sort of injury when his Toyota Prius went out of control because of unintended acceleration and a day later, a 56-year old woman faced the same consequence in Harrison, New York.

The woman was driving her 2005 Prius model and she sustained injuries as she was pulling out of the driveway when the Prius shot across the street and crashed into a stone wall. It wasn’t a case where the floor mat got stuck and the reason of the crash is a faulty accelerator pad which has the tendency to get stuck on occasions. The Prius in question had already been taken to a dealership after a company recall before this crash. For now Toyota is answering questions to convince the bothered US authorities who are pushing Toyota for another recall.

Porsche staged the 918 Super Hybrid Spyder at the Geneva Auto Show with no intentions to mass produce it in the near future but, the success of the electric Spyder at the Geneva event has got Porsche thinking. It was an instant hit at the motor show and that is why Porsche is now considering manufacturing the Spyder which has even got the employees excited as they wish to build it in future. If the production nod ahead is given, the 918 Spyder should start selling in the next five years where Porsche will first make the buyers sign intent letters to purchase the semi-electric commuters. The current 918 model that was showcased at the Geneva gathering features a combination of a V8 engine and three electric motors which together managed a credible 708hp.

The Toyota Prius has been one of the top green machines admired by environmentalists but technical complications have marred its image recently. The Prius is already on a global recall for inconsistent breaking (2009-2010 model) issues and now a new problem is being report ed. The Prius accelerator can also get jammed at times behaving oddly where the car can get accelerated itself at high speeds where the foot brakes fails to respond.

James Sikes, a 61 year-old US man also reported the same problem and in his case it was dialing 911 which saved his life on a California Freeway. Sikes did receive a recall notice but the Toyota dealership he approached mentioned that his car was not on the list. The technical flaw is now being investigated by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Toyota Motor Corporation engineers.
