Volvo as a brand admires station wagons the most and while the 2011 Volvo S60 has just started rolling of the production facility, spy shots of its station wagon edition V60 have started to appear on the web. The V60 is based on the S60 and while Volvo is testing it out there in the cold, there is still no word on when the V60 prototype will hit the production floor.

Indeed, Volvo hasn’t gone ahead and confirmed its production status but these winter testing spy shots give us hope that it should happen sometime soon. If Volvo does give it a nod ahead, the commuter will hit the market in petrol and diesel turbocharged engines in four, five and six cylinder formats while an AWD is also a possibility. [via WCF]

The top four door coupe class contender’s next avatar, the 2011 Mercedes CLS was caught by the spy photographers testing in Germany. The spy mages reveal a bigger grille, a more prominent front bumper, LED daytime running lights and angular headlights. Interestingly, there is a third break light which finds its position in the bumper between the exhaust pipes. On the inside, the customary interior makes way for a more cost friendly E class type setup which is surely disappointing. Engine speculations for the 2011 model involve a number of petrol and diesel choices which includes a 3.5L V6 and a 5.5L V8. Also there could be a twin-turbo V8 powering the 2011 CLS with 544hp and hybrid version all of which shall be up for the grabs later this year. [via WCF]

Being the largest manufacturer of commuters in the world is a laurel Toyota is proud of but something which dents the monikers repute is its recalls. This time a problem has been reported with the steering system on the new Corolla and if the owner claims are found out to be true, Toyota will have no option but to stage a recall. The problem reported is discreet as drivers report loosing control of the sedan. Toyota is hoping that it may have happened in reported cases where the braking system on tires gave away but even then Toyota hasn’t utterly denied a recall. The problem with this recall is that it is come to the notice of the U.S Congress who wish to know whether Toyota thoroughly informed the consumers and safety officials or not.
