The first 50 customers to purchase the entire kit will get it for €579 instead of the €645-so what are you thinking!
The Alfa Romeo Spider isn’t really bothered about the recession and a clear confirmation is its bold pricing. But for once, there are one many reasons to defend that sticker price and therefore no one is actually complaining. Based on the globally acclaimed Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, the Spider is a product unleashed because of the sheer demand.

The limited edition spider will have only 500 units and 35 of those are meant for the US market-imagine how sought after this version will be! And therefore, paying $299,000 will not be a hurting exercise. The price confirmed by Maserati North America makes the Spider the most expensive production Alfa Ever. We are certain that all of these cars will not just stick to the sticker price and could actually fetch even double the amount as the demand far exceeds the supply. [via Autoblog]

People have always treated the VW as a mule that can be experimented with. This time around the mule has been attended to by the Swiss-based Sportec and the have converted it into the SC200. The SC200 is capable of churning 200 hp with 300 Nm of Torque which is up from the conventional 1.4 TSI’s 160 hp with 240 Nm of torque. The kick in performance has been achieved using electronic manipulation. This conversion also takes the rpm between 1,800 and 3,000. The car runs on octane rich gasoline because of these conversions. The engine upgrade now makes the car clock 8.2 seconds for the 0 to 100 Km dash which is 1.4 seconds quicker than the standard vehicle.
They call it the baby Rolls Royce but a single reading of the specs makes you certain that it is a quite a devil in the ranks. Rolls Royce has gone ahead and announced the official performance specifications for the much-awaited 2010 Ghost. It will feature a new 6.6-liter turbocharged V12 engine capable of rendering 563bhp and 780Nm of torque at a low 1500 rpm. The engine is mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission which will give the devil a 0 to 60mph timing of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 155mph. It is all about delivering ‘effortless composure and refined power delivery’.

The Ghost is inspired by Phantom when it comes to styling (of course in a smaller package) and it measures 5399mm in length, 3295mm in wheelbase, 1948mm in width, and 1550mm in height. The UK customers will get this treat at the end of this year for an expected £165,000. The North American Customers will get it in the second quarter of 2010 for US$245,000, while the rest of the world will pay US$250,000.

The 2010 Fiat Grand Punto was recently spied in one of the most unusual places-Italy. Not that cars are not tested in Italy, but if you do not find them doing round around the Scandinavia, it clearly hints towards the car soon making it to dealer showrooms. So the Grand Punto with all new features will be there for the grabs and although the details are still scant, they spy shots do reveal a bit about what is in store. Just like all-new models, a new front grille finds a place here as well.

Also, there are new taillights, headlights and new front and rear bumpers. Fiat has managed to keep the rest of the details clad but I am sure that it will not be long that all specifications will go public. [via WCF]
You would surely remember the Acura ZDX prototype from the 2009 New York Auto Show and even if you don’t, it will now be there on the roads (as the 2010 Acura ZDX) pretty soon and there is no chance that you would forget once you get a nice glimpse. The X-factor is the rarity of exterior design that uses an elevated position-unusual for a four door coupe. With that position comes a rear tapering roof with bold fender flares, a panoramic roof and hidden rear door handles. The 19-inch 7-spoke alloys which feature in this coupe as standard are also the largest in the Acura Range.

Powering the grind is the 3.7-litre naturally aspirated V6 engine capable of generating 300hp with 366 Nm torque. The powertrain is supported by a 6-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted paddles. What is pleasing is that the Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive (SH-AWD) system is standard with all ZDX models. The ZDX will come in three variants as the standard, technology package and ultra premium range. Each of these will have a hand-stitched leather dash, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB audio interface, an iPod connection and a CD player. With the higher levels, features like Sat-Nav, multi-view rear camera and adaptive cruise control will be offered.
Toyota has finally decided to mass produced its first European C-Segment hybrid variant in the UK. It will be the highly popular Auris that will shun the conventional engine for a greener one and this would happen at a manufacturing plant in Burnaston, in the county of Derbyshire, UK. The production of the car will begin in the middle of 2010 and it will be a full hybrid variant with a lot of UK content.

Toyota is keen to make full hybrids accessible to a larger segment and this development will help foster that approach. The non-hybrid version of the Auris (replaced Corolla) has hit the 370,000 units mark since 2007 and Toyota hopes for a similar achievement once the greener cars start rolling.
The American buyers expecting the Facelifted 2010 Kia Rio will probably have to wait till the year end, but the Koreans could get it book in the coming few weeks. The latest variant has surfaced with some images on the web which give in a few crucial details though the official release is still awaited. The redesigned front-end is evidently visible with an aggressive air-intake, more prominent for lights and an all-new grille.

Another major change is the availability of colored body cladding but it is difficult to say whether all models will receive a monotone appearance or not. The changes to the interior include a redesigned center stack with an improved radio and a climate control system. There is also a new steering, with a redone instrument panel and stainless steel pedals. [via kia-world.net]
