
Volkswagen has just launched its latest Golf GTD in Germany. Considered the GTI of diesels, the new Golf GTD is based on the same car that except for its 2.0-litre direct injection common rail turbo diesel that sports 170 hp at 4,200rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1,750rpm and 2,500rpm. Capable of going naught to 100km/h in just 8.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 220km/h (136.7mph), the new Golf GTD has been mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and does 5.3 litres per 100km (53.3 UK mpg). With a lowered chassis, chrome horizontal stripes on the front grille, standard fog lights, twin chrome tailpipes and 17-inch wheels with 225 section tyres, prices start €27,475 (with a DSG version at €29,350. It looks like a really nice car. New design and feature is great actually, maybe this car is really the new monster.
