And just when you thought there’s no other supercar to surprise you in the near future, here’s the latest coming out from John Gocha and his team at Intense Automotive Design. An amazing Mosler MT900 GTR XX has been tweaked (actually fully rebuilt) to pack a Corvette-sourced twin turbo GM LS7 engine that outputs a mind-blowing 2,500 horsepower and runs on a special mixture of petrol, methanol, hydrogen and ethanol. Known as the “Land Shark”, this amazing beast gets to 62mph in 2.5 seconds (it takes me longer to only think of it), to 150mph in 6.7 seconds and at 250 mph in only 17.5 seconds. No price, availability date or any specific proof that the car will ever be built, but we love it as a concept, just as much. [via WCF]

No one expected it. At this year’s Auto Salon in Barcelona, SEAT managed to turn heads with their new Seat Ibiza Bocanegra. I mean with the production version of their Ibiza Bocanegra (“black mouth”). A concept that got the press attention last year in Geneva, the Spanish automaker turned it into the real deal.

With a front fascia, bumper, headlights, and honeycomb mesh grille all covered with a black “finish”, Ibiza Bocanegra is being powered by a 1.4-liter TSI enginethat can be customized to output either 150 hp or 180 hp. And because the engine is quite small (though the output is great), the hatchback is expected to perform really well in terms of fuel efficiency. Running on 17-inch Sira alloys, with a new darkened sunroof and a mesh side grids and a spoiler in the back, that’s one of the most interesting SEATs in a long time.
One that we’d most likely love to get behind the wheel. [via WCF]

Those wicked chaps at Hennessey Performance Engineering got their hands on a Cadillac CTS-Va and turned it into a real monster. Thanks to a V800 package that includes a twin-turbo system, external wastegates, blow-off valves, a high-performance fuel system with upgraded injectors and new engine management software, the 556 hp stock engine is now churning some 800hp and 780 lb-ft of torque. But for those that 800hp (anyone?) is too much, they’ve prepared more tuning packages (V600, V650, V700) that will cost less. A beast in disguise, Hennessey sure managed to get us dreaming of burning rubber from behind the wheel of their new 800hp CTS-V. How about you?

Expected to launch their first an SUV-like vehicle, Dacia announced Sandero Stepway at this year’s Barcelona motor show. The four meter vehicle is actually the European version of Renault Sandero Stepway which was already selling in Argentina and Brazil since November 2008, with over 2,500 units being sold by now.

With a raised body, rear skid plate and sills, chrome longitudinal roof bars and a set of 16-inch alloy wheels, Sandero Stepway features an ABS breaking system with ABD and fron airbags for the driver and the passenger. Available in three metallic paint colours (Feu red, Comète grey and Platine grey), under the hood the Stepway features either a 1.6-litre 90hp petrol engine (7.6l/100km) or a 70hp dCi motor (5.3l/100km).
Deliveries on Dacia Sandero Stepway will start from September, but it’s rumored that you’ll have to get in line starting from July! We don’t have a price for it yet, but do you like it?

Raffles to sell something big are becoming a trend. After seeing how they do raffles for luxurious/expensive houses, it’s time to see them in the automotive industry. However this one is for a good cause. A one-off Corvette ZR1 Hero Edition is being raffled on December 23rd (yes Christmas) to raise money for the Kids Wish Network. A bit of red along with a carbon fiber body the ZR1 Hero is being proppeled by a supercharged LS9 V8 engine that outputs some … 638hp (469kW). And for those that wonder, no the car is not for sale at a dealer or anything, but the $3 raffle ticket will get you in the game for owning this super Vette and to help the kids. Great! Long rivals BMW and Mercedes should fear now that the new Audi A3 has become realty. Although we’re expecting a press release with all the juicy details, we managed to find out that the new A3 combines the best of a coupe styled vehicle and a Jetta, all mixed into one gorgeous design. With engines ranging from the 105hp 1.2-litre TSI, an 140hp 1.4-litre TSI and an 170hp 1.8 TSI to real monsters like the 280hp engine on the S3 quattro and a 335hp on the new Audi RS 3. Expected to launch in the US from 2011,the new Audi A3 sure looks like a hit already even though it’s not hitting the production lines right now. [via autocar]

Environmentally conscious drivers are starting to demand better and more fuel efficient cars. With that in mind the Spanish folks from Seat have just announced that their Ibiza ECOMOTIVE managed to set a world record for fuel efficiency and has the ability to drive over 1,500 km on a single tank of gas. A great example of efficiency and technologically advanced capabilities, the best part is that it’s not even considered a hybrid and it goes for a consumption rate of 2.9 liters per 100km. Seat said that “optimized streamlining, weight reduction and modifications to the 80 hp 1.4 TDI” (quite an engine) was needed in getting those numbers.

The newest Audi R8-based PPI Razor GTR was revealed recently with a jaw-dropping 580 horsepower coming from a stock 4.2-liter V8. But not just any stock engine… This one features a specially engineered supercharger and a ram-charged sport air filter system, along with a high performance stainless steel exhaust. With the main main focus on optimizing the power-to-weight ratio, this R8 just lost 521 lbs which helped it increase torque to 600Nm and to sprint 0 to 100km/h in 3.7 towards a max speed of 332 km/h. A mind blowing beast, that will probably require you to break a bank for the cash … but we LOVE it! [via autoblog.nl]
