Ssangyong seems to care that the world is going through one of its worse crisi. That’s why they thought of announcing an environmental friendly concept to their vehicle lineup. Dubbed Ssangyong C200 Aero, the new CUV (compact urban vehicle) is expected to be available in UK first, starting with 2010. Not too long and not too wide, the chunky C200 Aero is not much about styling as it is about performances. With options to choose between a 175-horsepower 2.0 liter turbodiesel, 1.8 liter gasoline engines or a diesel hybrid (for the C200 Aero Eco version), the vehicle is mated to a six-speed manual or automatic transmissions and emits 50% less CO2 into the air (for the Eco version). Plus we love the interior …

Although not official until yesterday, the new BMW X6 M has just been unveiled on the Internet. Expected to be unveiled on April 9th in New York, the new X6 M definitely looks and IS aggressive. Packed with technology that will make you shell out a lot to park it on your alley, the brute is going to feature a 4.4 liter V8 power plant with twin-scroll turbochargers and should put out nothing less than 550 hp. And although it’s heavy it should do 0 to 100km/h in a bit below 5 seconds and a top speed of 155mph, which is actually amazing. With a 6-speed M Sports Automatic transmission with full automatic mode as well as M driving mode and a Dynamic Performance Control system for better grip, the X6 M is definitely a car many have been looking for … [via Autoblog]

For those rich enuogh not to feel the financial crisi, the wicked folks at Project Kahn got their hands on a Bentley Continental Flying Spur and turned it into a Pearl White Edition. Although not much have changed on the outside (except for those amazingly elegant 22-inch “White Mist” diamond cut alloy wheels), the new Bentley got an electronic lowering module that helps adjust the suspension and some quilted leather on the inside. Powered by a 6.0-litre twin turbo W12 engine that outputs 552bhp and 650Nm of torque, that little beast sprints from 0 to 100km/h in only 4.9 seconds. [via WCF]
Cars; no matter what we do, we can’t live without them. In today’s word, nobody can truly be productive without a vehicle. If you are lucky enough to be the owner of your own automobile, you must treat them like children as they eventually break down and require replacement parts. This unavoidable evil must be dealt with, regardless of when and where you purchased your vehicle. Thankfully, concept cars, like the Mazda Kiyora, don’t need this level of attention.
The Kiyora may only be a dream, but it’s the kind of dream that future automotives are made of. The joys, and pains, of concept vehicles is that they will never truly be driven; never be released to the mass market. As such, these cars don’t need to repair brake pads like normal cars. However, when something does need to be replaced, it must be custom made by the same team who build the original design. This can take a basic repair and turn it into an expensive chore.
This doesn’t mean concept cars aren’t worth looking into. Design styles from the Mazda Crossfire eventually found their way into the Mazda 5 and Mazda CX9. From brake rotors to sunroofs, all components found in modern vehicles found their births in concept cars from the past. Even the simple cushion seat was just a design on a drawing board at one point.
While the dream of owning a concept car does save the trip to the auto parts store, it doesn’t free you from the reality of your own vehicle, but this is where the mass produced automobile can be advantageous. Instead of settling for specific designs and required parts, you can build a custom vehicle that matches your style. Choosing a customer paint job, quality tachometer, or killer sound system, are only the beginning of the options available to the budding artist. The availability of these choices provides a freedom of creativity that most drivers won’t ever realize with their cars.
Going beyond the custom rims, spoilers and paint jobs, the real car enthusiast will go so far as to replace their engine, add Bilstein and KYB shocks, and overhaul the interior. By building a personalized vehicle, one can effectively create their own concept car, without the price tag and repair costs of the ones from the manufacturer. Whatever your interest, the concept car is always an interesting idea that offers insight to the future of vehicles.

Cadillac has stepped out into the hybrid SUV market both in style and with efficiency in mind. And that’s because their new Escalade Platinum Hybrid offers not just a real cool look with its all black body, but brings about performance with a mileage of 24 mpg. That is the number that Cadillac wishes to highlight when it comes to the Escalade, which is driven by a 6.0-litre V8 engine along with General Motors’ two-mode hybrid system. As a part of the system will be a 300-volt nickel hydride battery that will power the Escalade on as the company tries hard to integrate a classy look with cleaner vehicles and efficient engines. With a price tag well in excess of $85,000, the Escalade will soon be available in the US market. [via Autocar]

While the official debut for the 2010 Mercedes E63 AMG will be at the New York Auto Show, we managed to get our hands on the first pics and a press release. The car looks simply stunning with an increase in power, better efficiency, lighter body and a few changes to the exterior. The latest from AMG sports a 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V8 with 518bhp and a torque of 465lb ft allowing it to race from 465lb ft in just 4.5 seconds. Apart from that, the E63 can top off at a cool 155mph and consumes 12 percent less fuel offering it a mileage of 22.4 mpg on an average. It still comes with Controlled Efficiency, Sport, Sport Plus and Manual setting choices and this should largely govern your fuel economy. Sporting 18-inch AMG allow wheels, LED daytime running lights, a more aggressive front spoiler, a rear diffuser and four tailpipes, the E63 AMG Sedan is set go on sale in UK by this September… Watch out Merc fans!

Making its debut at the New York Auto Show, the 2010 Subaru Legacy is 35 mm longer, 90 mm wider and 80 mm higher than the previous model. Much like the earlier released Subaru Legacy Concept but without the fancy LED-lights, shiny metallic paint and a change in the mirrors, the latest legacy does not look like something astonishingly new. Coming in three trim levels- Legacy 2.5i with a 170 HP 2.5-liter engine, Legacy 2.5GT with a 265 HP version of the same engine and Legacy 3.6R with a 256 HP output, Subaru seem to have come out with very few changes for the newest member of the Legacy line up. But, you could still wait for the Wagon version, which might take a bit longer to step out. [via Jalopnik]
